"I particularly like ballroom dancing" said The Horseman trying to make himself heard to his companions, as the room was filling up nicely and it was somewhat noisier. "I do enjoy the old waltzes though. They don't do them any justice in those period films they make" he added with the shake of his.. er... shoulders.

The elf with the violin heard The Horseman and smiled softly to herself. She shifted from the lively piece she was playing at the moment to the dancing piece from Pride and Prejudice. (dang... can't remember the name right now...) Hopefully some of the others would dance to it.

Deria smiled at the song and stepped in time to it. She did enjoy ballroom dancing, the most appropriate with her rather resplendent dress. as well as her shoes. The waltz was her favorite dance, and she liked the foxtrot and the cha-cha as well. She sighed in delight. What an excellent day...

Deria eyed the Horseman. "Well, we're rather missing an abundance of smart gentlemen. There aren't enough here, and too many ladies. There should be more balance, you know? Balance is everything...good and evil, light and darkness, warmth and cold, ladies and gentlemen..." She smiled. "But I must say it looks like we are having a good time."

The Signora Psyche Zenobia was drawn to the music like a moth to a flame, such as Totfeo would herd llamas on the plains of Siberia with the sound of his didgeridoo, or so say the lore of Chitizaw.
However, she stopped at the sight of dancing. Dancing "Alas, my dancing days are over!" said she, dramatically. "Thus it is ever. What a host of gloomy recollections will ever and anon be awakened in the mind of genius and imaginative contemplation, especially of a genius doomed..." and on and on she went, making no coherent sense but ending with a obscure reference to a Chinese novel called "Jo-Go-Slow."

Deria looked around. "Is it evening already?" she inquired, surprised. It seemed just a minute ago it was the morning. Staring outside, she noticed the sun was indeed rather low on the horizon. "That's surprising," she said, and smiled. Bowing to the newcomer, she added, "One can never be too old for at least some type of dancing, you know. Though one can be too old for this." In a moment she had changed her heeled sandals for pointe shoes and was en pointe.

TT was sitting, listening quietly to The Horseman and Deria's conversation. She couldn't help smiling. Leaning back, TT drew a contented sigh. The Horseman was right... this time of evening was so beautiful. The air so cool, the fire so warm...

Suddenly there was a yelp from The Horseman's direction.
"Blasted open fires!" he cried. "There should be warning signs on these things! Almost set fire to my breeches and then where would I have been?!".
Deciding fires were unsafe and went and stood in a draught by the window.
