"That makes me think that there surely must have been a struggle if the note ended up on the floor," Maeve noted, while looking at the windows to see if they were still latched.

Dun duh. Duh de duh. Duh duh duh duh duh duh duh AAAAHHHH!
Nurr entered her former bedroom, swooping and enjoying the sensation of flying. Well, aside from the being dead part of it. "I always wanted my own soundtrack," she joked.

"Nurr!" Maeve exclaimed, one hand over her heart in surprise, "Enjoying the afterlife, are you? Have you got any clues about your death? We're dying to know something," she said, gesturing around the room, "Not literally of course."

PD involuntarily gasped and put a hand over her mouth at the sight of Nurr swooping in among them.

(^*patpat* there, there. I'm hitting the hay for tonight... sooo... that takes one person out of the equation at least. Don't solve the murders/get murdered before I return!)

[I'll be off to bed soon as well. It looks like things have quieted down for the night. That is, unless Nurr is keeping a clue hidden from us. *hugs for all*]

"Well besides the fact that I'm dead, being dead isn't too bad." Nurr nodded sagely - or as sagely as she could be, since everyone else could see through her head. "And the only clue I have is a funny feeling. I knew I shouldn't have returned after all the misunderstandings last year." Those expressions - they were priceless! Perfect for another poem. Perhaps entitled "Emotions at finding your friend is a ghost"? Nurr stooped to pick up her pad and pencil, and was exasperated to find her hand passed straight through them. That is, she was exasperated until she realized she could go in and out of the wall.

"There aren't any bruises on that beautiful face of yours, Nurr." Kit observed, "And it's been a whole day---so I'm sure bruises would have formed by now. You must've have been smothered with your pillow in your sleep."

Morfinneth looked as she saw Nurr floating above. "Mother," she said out loud. She was still upset and still could not believe her mother had been murdered. Who could have done such a thing. Her husband had not said much over the matter, for he was not very good with sympathetic words and didn't know what to say. Instead, he did not leave his wife for a moment and followed her everywhere, keeping an arm around her. Morfinneth was not always herself when she was upset about something. However, Nurr did not seem to mind being dead much.

MB was glad she hadn't wandered into the dining room after she followed everyone back up the stairs to the room in which Nurr's body (and apparently her ghost) were.
She gaped at the translucent figure floating in the room and was reminded of the first party Kit had hosted and she was one of the floating ghosts ...
... And now the murderous fiend Nurr was the next victim. Revenge? It sure seemed like it.
She gazed at everyone standing in the room, Nurr's lifelss body and pillows strewn about the room...the note...
MB wondered if her love for murder mysteries and crime shows would have any effect on her helping solve the mystery that lie before them. She highly doubted it.
"This is going to be a long 2 weeks ... " she sighed.

Stealing into former Nurr's bedroom, first thing Eä noticed was the rather transparent version of Nurr. Next thing was how many of last year's victims were assembled around the bed, herself included, by the way.
"Oh" Was the only word she immediately found appropriate in the situation. Seeing as their hostess was present too it would be quite impolite to bluntly shoot accusations at poor Kit - no matter how well-founded they might be.
After all, wasn't it ironic that the one person who had caused so much uneasiness and reasons for wailing last year - gods know, they had spent a good deal of time showing suitable exasperation over the killings - were murdered when the Hallowfest was not even three days old.
The one person with a motive for getting Nurr out of the way, could easily be Kit.
Eä leaned towards the doorframe, pondering. The vague clues didn't interest her as much as the people present. She let her gaze travel over the faces of her fellow guests, all of them showing the appropriate amount of grief sutable for the occasion. If Eä could have looked at her own face that moment, she was quite certain that she too, was covered in a mask of shock and frustration about the incident.
"Take that." She exclaimed, again getting an irresistable urge to step it up and dance a little routine to Relight My Fire, that was still playing on repeat in her head.
"Take that." She repeated, this time a little louder in order to make herself heard above the music within her skull.
"Clearly, the motive is revenge... Either the murderer was among Nurr's victims last year - whitch rules out a lot of us... ehh... I mean which narrows it down to like a handful of people, not including myself, of course."
Eä coughed into her sleeve and gathered her solemn composure.
"OR... the killer is among the ones who were not among the victims last year, but might have been among the victims' relatives or friends... or acquaintances or creditors or lawyers or... well..."
She coughed again.
"Which narrows it down to.. anyone who might have a grudge against.. well, a serial killer."
"Et voila, my dearies.... who's up for breakfast?"

The Signora Psyche Zenobia ran upstairs. Yes, ran: that stimulating, universal motion that is so very much like walking-- ah, but this is no time for magniloquent writing! The body is upstairs! She was running, fearful the body might be removed before she had a chance to record her impressions of it for her story. When she arrived, however, her attention was completely diverted by the sight of the ghost. A ghost! She was indeed fortunate, stumbling into such a gold-mine of fantastic sensations. She proceeded to try to poke and prod the Ghost of Nurr experimentally, and watched with delight how her fingers met with nothing. "It is like the mists of the mountains Seboz, said to house to nymphs of Bovis," she wrote in her notebook.
The news that Nurr was a murderer caught her ear. "Ah! Naturally! A victim wreaks revenge on his murderer," she said, savoring the poetic turn. "And so the victim turns murderer! Death breeds death, and so we shall all die!" she continued, suddenly turning pensive and melancholy.

Violet hadn't slept well. She tossed and turned in her sleep, and was awake for at least 4 long stretches of time. Meanwhile, Winter was curled up at the end of the bed, sleeping as calmly as if nothing unusual had happened. Well...Violet briefly wondered whether her cat was capable of murder before deciding the idea was completely ludicrous.
When morning came, she stumbled into the kitchen, purple hair tied back, and went immediately for the coffee. She gulped down a cup standing next to the coffee maker, then poured another one. Looking around, she spotted some bagels, and took one to go with her coffee. She saw a rather delicious looking apple, and added it to her plunder. Satisfied, she slipped out into the gardens, got into a comfortable chair, and started writing furiously in her notebook. Random stream-of-consciousness stuff, if anyone wanted to know. It helped her deal with her emotions, which were skyrocketing out of control at the moment.
{off to school, back in 7 hours or so.}

Kit felt an uneasiness about the way Ea was looking -- glancing, really --- at her, and she felt the urge to turn up her nose at Ea for this sudden subtle tension.
And then she watched as Psyche Zenobia came into the room with a flair of poetic madness, and turned back to Ea. "Breakfast sounds good."
