I think Jocelyn should be taken off. Although her character is prone to disturbing tendencies and often mentions blood, death, etc. the same things could have been said about my character [had she not died]. It would be much too obvious.

Lady Death: Kit also explicitly say that Columbus was not a hint but just to tell how old the map was..

The times of death might be important too.. but I couldn't figure anything out.

Hmm.. that is true, unless Kit threw out a red herring for us.. I really think these clues are vague and wish I had more to go on... it could be so many things deending on how you look at it...

As for the flower Simbelmynë is the only thing I can think of... and Tur always has that Eomer avatar and what not... but that is probably out there

I have no idea who the killer might be. If I had to guess, I think I would say PD because:
a) Old map --> "likes anything to do with 1700's"
b) Flat map --> likes PotC, sailed off the edge of the world in AWE, and Fountain of Youth, water, and all that jazz...
c) Twilight --> Dislikes
d) Missing cat Winter ---> [and this is stretching it, I know] dislikes the Golden Compass, and Winter was a very daemon-like cat, yes?

All other arguments for other people sound totally valid, though, and I agree with JF that because this is our first guess, and we're only 5 days in so the clues really should be impossible.

Something else also occurred to me. Maybe the map is a red herring because it was found by Kit, not by any of the ghosts. Could this mean something?

Undómiel: Undomiel means "twilight star" The element ndu means "set (as of the sun)." The element domi means "twilight." The element el means "star." Arwen was so called because of her dark beauty and because she lived in the fading - or twilight - years of the Elves in Middle-earth.

So Twilight books --> Arwen --> LOTR?

@ Fluffy: Thanks for that. I knew there was an official reason as to why the Columbus bit was unimportant.

We certainly don't have to be right on our first guess, everyone. I say we accuse Tur [since the majority seems to believe it's him] and if we're wrong we'll at least have one of the biggest suspects out of the way.

Taur that is a good deduction, PD could be very plausible... I think we have to decide between Taur and PD since it seems they have the most against them...

@ Fragile: The Twilight part of my death was chosen before Kitoky actually stated to all of you that the books were indeed Twilight. She mentioned them in the PM to me saying that I was dead.

I agree though, that we should choose Tur, if we are wrong we will have another guess with more clues and one or the biggest suspects will be out
