Myrtle continued her solo dance and smiled. She knew her husband's eyes were on her as she danced all around the dance floor. When the tune had ended, she decided that had grown a little bored of dancing and she and Haldir headed over to the swimming hole.

The dance ended in a flurry of excitement and the crowd erupted with cheers and clapping. Daerka was flushed and couldn't help smiling. She spotted Primula on the other side of the field and dodged more hobbits who had already begun to dance again. She touched Primula on the arm to get her attention and called above the noise, "I think I'm going to take a turn in the garden, dear."

"Allright" nodded Primula. She didn't think she should follow her, in case she was becoming a nuissance, so she didn't. Instead she headed around to the kin's table for a bite toeat.

Goldie looked around to see if anyone was dancing yet. She waited for the hobbits to catch up, not wanting to be the first to step ontot he dance floor.

Merry ran up and grabbed Goldie, dragging her out on the dance floor. Frodo was the one that dragged Prisca out.

"I'm sorry," Prisca said, in the few moments they had to speak to one another, "There are only two of us and four of them. So, it was either snatch us right any, or not at all."

Goldie laughed, happy to be dancing with Merry, before she was forced to step aside.

The final dance of the evening had come for Daerka. It was a lively jig, just like the first one she had danced at the beginning. Curly hair flying out behind her, she twirled and weaved throughout the dance couples. Fireworks continued to burst overhead, and finally the dance came to an end. Brushing the hair out of her eyes and gulping down the night air, Daerka waved good-bye to her fellow hobbits. "I've had a wonderful time!" she called, "Have a good night!"

[Yay for the end of a good ball! ]

The five hobbits ran to the dance floor. "That was great," Merry laughed out.

"Yeah, and you saw how big those were," Prisca agreed, trying to show the size with her arms.

Sam, looking to the side, said to himself, "Gandalf is so going to turn us in lizards when he finds out."

"And, when do you propose he would find out?" a voice from behind them asked.

Turning around, the five hobbits saw Gandalf standing right behind them.

"Busted," Prisca muttered under her breath.

Haldir and Myrtle wandered away from the party tree and made their way back to the dance floor. The ball was coming to an end and they wanted to dance one more time. Haldir held his wife close as they gracefully danced. No words were spoken between them as they danced, nor did any need to be.

Drew and Will walked over to the dance floor from the party tree. "One more romantic dance, my Love" Will asked offering her his hand. Drew nodded as she took Will's hand. She sighed and laid her head upon Will's shoulder. She truely had had a wonderful time.

Daisy couldn't believe the ball was over already. It seemed the time had gone by in a flash. Regretfully stepping off the green, Daisy said goodbye to all her friends.

At the corner of his eye, Haldir glaced over at Will and Drew and just smiled. He may not admit it to anyone other then his wife, but oddly enough, he did have fun. He pulled Myrtle into a hug and lightly kissed the top of her head. He still couldn't believe he was acting such a way with others. His actions continued to surprise Myrtle as well. She too was not always fond of such actions around others either but her husband was more paranoid then she was. She smiled. Maybe he has gathered up more confidence in himself.

Goldie spotted Frodo, Sam, Merry, Pippin and Prisca on the dance floor. She ran over to them.
"That was incredible, guys! It looked like so much fun. I'm sorry I couldn't make it, but it was quite a show to be able to see!" The happy replies she expected were replaced by worried frowns, and Goldie looked up to see Gandalf standing right behind the group.
"Oh...hello Gandalf," she said smally, hoping that she hadn't given the plot away. She cast a desperate look towards Merry, looking for an explanation. He only shrugged, and Goldie was unsure of what to do next.
"Goldie..." Gandalf began. "I wouldn't have suspected you to be caught up with them." Goldie chuckled as she looked around, considering which direction would be the safest to run to. "But then again..." Gandalf began, as everyone else watched him closely, "It is the last day of the ball. I'll deal with you-" he eyes Merry and Pippin rather harshly-"later. In the meantime, I think it's fair enough if you were to enjoy yourselves."
Goldie squealed in delight as the hobbits took to the dance floor once again. As Goldie twirled around she reflected on how much fun this ball had been, and she was most certainly looking forward to the next one.

Edward and Poppy rushed onto the dance floor for one last twirl.

They swirled and swooshed round and round, soaking up every last bit of the night. It had certainly been an amazing party. They laughed and sang as they twirled, waving to the few people left.

Finally, at the end of the song, they collapsed onto the grass, dizzy and tired, but content. They smiled at one another, not having to say aloud how excited they were for the next ball.

[I didn't realize it ended today - otherwise I would have come on last night Oh well! It was fun! Good bye everyone ]
