"Why thank you, Moririellë! We're working very hard to make it a smooth trip with no, uh, accidents." Taur said with a shudder. "Oh, be sure and try the caramel and dark chocolates at the chocolate bar. They are divine!" she added with a smile. "Now, if you'll excuse me, I must find Sergei..."

Taur wandered farther up the train, until she hit the luggage car which contained the conductor's desk. "Well Sergei, I think we're all ready! Let's go!"

With a nod, Sergei went to the platform bellowed, "Tvrain departing! All aboooaaard!"
"Really, must you say that Sergei?" Taur frowned. "It's so cliché."
"It iz zee best part ov my job, Madame." Sergei replied.

He blew his whistle, and a flurry of activity began. The train began to steam, and the firemen and crew members called out instructions and last second preparations. The doors were slammed shut and secured. The train jolted, throwing everyone on board off balance for a moment, then at last began to slowly inch forward. The whistle blew, and it began to gather up speed, going faster and faster. Soon, it flew out of the station and went racing into the night.

So far, this trip was going less smoothly than Clarissa would have hoped. She had hardly spoken to a single person! This simply would not do. She couldn't spend her whole holiday waiting for someone to strike up a conversation with her, either. If she wanted company, she would have to go find it herself, she supposed. She took one final glance around the coach before grabbing her Agatha Christie book and tucking it under her arm. If she didn't meet anyone worth speaking to, she could use it to pass the time, and if she did, it could certainly serve as a conversation starter.

Clarissa stumbled a bit as the train lurched into motion, catching herself on the frame of the door before she fell. Once she had righted herself again, she made her way down the many corridors and into the Lounge car, where she found a young girl speaking to a woman who seemed to be...sparkling. A bit too much stage makeup, darling. Tone it down a bit, perhaps? Clarissa sat down nearby and immediately buried her nose in the book, acting as if it was the most fascinating thing she had ever laid eyes on.

Nurrantiel grunted as she finished shoving her trunk into the too small compartment in bunk 6. Perfect placement, she thought to herself as she glanced back at the layout of the Express. Close to the chocolate bar! With one final survey of the berth, Nurrantiel decided it was time to meet the rest of the passengers. She took a step out into the hallway, flushed, and promptly stepped back in again. Wearing slippers to meet new people! That would not do at all.

Safely changed, Nurr made her way down to the Lounge car. She clapped her hands with delight upon entering. "Why Sparkle, and Mr Horseman! How lovely to see you again! I must say, the lack of trees upon a train will certainly be a fortunate circumstance, but --" breaking off, she wondered if this might be too delicate a subject. "I don't believe I've had the pleasure," she said, turning to the rest of the passengers. "Ooh, Agatha Christie! She's a personal favorite of mine as well. Which one are you reading?"

Taunaki smiled at Taur, "Hello and thank you!"

Turning back to the girl with the Agatha Christie book and the other who took an interest in it, she smiled warmly at them, "I hear there's chocolate. Would you like me to get some for you? I'm Taunaki by the way. It's nice to meet you!"

Moririellë could not help but shudder herself. "Most certainly. I do not there are no accidents," she said. "I love dark chocolate, caramel is good too, especially in chocolate. I shall try some, and then I am off to sleep, it is late already. I bid thee goodnight, Taurquende."

Her plan had worked perfectly, Clarissa thought as she smiled at the one who greeted her. "Murder on the Orient Express," she said, showing the cover of the book. "A bit macabre, perhaps, but I found it fitting nonetheless. I'm Clarissa, Clarissa Riordan." At the mention of chocolate, her grin widened, and she turned to the passenger who offered the treats. "That would be fantastic, thank you."

Sparkle looked up as more guests entered the Lounge. "More tea!" she squeaked and at once a steward appeared by her side with a large teapot and a plate full of cookies. "Oh, chocolate chip cookies!" she sighed "Those are my favourites.."
While sipping from her tea, she cast a glance sideways to Anne, who was enthusiasticly ripping out the pages of a certain book. Now wasn't Sparkle fond of books; the words and phrases never made sense to her and besides, stuffy old book were never sparkly. But Sparkle still thought that Anne's behaviour was somewhat unsettling and she remarked with a sweet voice: "I'm not sure if destroying other people's property is the right way to start our journey, dear."
As the train slowly set itself into motion, Sparkle let out a small cry of surprise. But upon noticing the Horseman in the Lounge she gave him a dazzling smile and played with her tinkling bracelets as she tried to think of something smart to say to him. But her contemplations were interrupted by Nurrantiel who'd just entered the Lounge.
"Hi Nurr dear" she piped up. "Would you like some tea?"

"Good morning everyone!" Moririellë greeted cheerfully. "It is a fine morning, I think. The sun is shining," she said. Moririellë headed to the dining car for some breakfast then joined some of the other guests in the Lounge, enjoying cups of hot tea and cookies. "Greetings Nurrantiel and *Sparkle," she said. "Might I join you for some tea?"

Crystal had a wonderful first night. After moving her suitcase into suit 11, Crystal had set off to explore the train. It was huge. She especially liked the chocolate bar, the lounge, entertainment room, the pamper lounge(she had already been there for a message), and the disco room. There was a wonderful dance floor in the disco room. She would have to talk everyone into a dance later on. There only seemed to be one gentlemen though and he didn't have a head. She wasn't sure how that would work, but it would be fun none the less.

After exploring, it had been time for bed. Crystal had curled up with a good book and fallen asleep listening to the soothing sound of the train. Now, she awoke with the same book pinned under her. She had fallen asleep reading. Poor little book. Crystal showered and dressed then headed for the dining car. There had to be some amazing breakfast on this train.

When see got to the dinning car, she saw the gentlemen guest had been thinking of the same as her. "Hello," Crystal said as sat down and grabbed a menu, "Do you know what is good on this train for breakfast?'

Liesl walked into the dining car, ready for food. She looked up just in time to see the steward mysteriously disappear, and wondered at that. As far as she knew, no one could disappear like that. Then again, everyone should have a head, too. Taking a seat next to Crystal, she picked a menu.

"Hi, I'm Liesl. Do you know what to get?"

Food! Kit's Hallowfestivities were notorious for its abundance in food and well-filled buffet table. Eä didn't deny that this was one of the reasons why she kept coming back year after year. True, she always happened to meet colourful characters and make new interesting aquaintances.. although, sometimes the friendships would end apruptly... In fact, another thing Kit's annual Hallowfest parties were notorious for was the unfortunate track record of.. well.. yes, of victims.. dead bodies...

Eä's train of thoughts were delightfully distracted as she spotted the buffet table.
"SUSHI", she exclaimed! I knew there was a reason why I came back this year! She dug into a California roll and scooped a couple of veggie tempura onto her plate, grabbed a couple of miscellaneous tuna and salmon nigiri before making her way towards the table.

Nodding politely to the fellow passengers at the table she took a seat.
"Good day to you", she said.
"I was wondering if any of you know how to get to the cargo cars. I believe this is where the staff put my flowers and I should so like to see if they are being treated well. I am to personally deliver them to a wealthy customer who recently moved to the Riviera."

The workers on this train were telepathic. They had to be. It isn't natural or normal for people to be right there when you need something.

"Yes, he did seem very biased. But he did provide some amusement for the morning," Crystal replied with a bit of laughter.

Crystal turn to Liesl and smiled. "Well everything looks good on the menu, but if you listen to the steward, the English breakfast is a killer. I don't think I shall heed his warning though. Being on vacation is a perfect time to harden one's arteries. Besides, I happen to love the way the English do breakfast."
