Umm.. sorry, that was mean and inconsiderate... and evil, I know you're stressed out, I just noticed because I had a lecture on Strategic Communication today... and apparently it causes me to be really nitpickingly annoying to my social surroundings... I generally find that people tend to be more likely to do something you want them to do if you set it on their terms. If I need to tell someone to do something, like at work, I generally just say, "Hey, Rick, you wanna start filing the sign out sheets?" And he does it. Even if they say, "No, I don't want to," they'll start doing it. It's just something I've noticed.
Or maybe I just deal with very good people.
It's a really handy tool, because I use it on my brothers all the time. "Hey, you wanna buy me this movie?" They'll do it. They'll so do it.
