"Nice to meet you too, of course." Tar said with a grin.
She looked up in surprise at Kit.
"Oh, we just er, wanted to help you out with fixing this door. It's awfully...fallish. And we just Figured we'd go exploring while we're at it? I'd invite you, but you seem rather busy."

"I think I'll excuse myself from the wine, but if you could direct us towards a toolbox, that would be quite nice," Fragile said, trying her best to be polite to their hostess. "We are making efforts to repair the door that has been somewhat battered by the dramatic entrances this evening."

Nurr's ears were caught by the mention of novels. Turning to Aria, she immediately began talking of her favorite subject: her work. "Oh, are you a reader?" She gushed. "I'm an author you know, the mystery sort. Perhaps you've read my books? Midnight on a Friday Eve? Tried and True Tales? The Clock Struck Thirteen?" She never quite got the idea that talking about her books all the time got obnoxious.

Bowing slightly to their hostess, Aria nodded at Fragile's explanation. "And once we do repair said door," she added hurriedly, hoping no one had observed who it was who'd knocked it down in the first place, "I suppose you don't mind if we look around a bit? It's really a lovely place."
Abruptly, Aria was distracted by a new face. "Oh," she said quietly, not wanting to admit she'd never even heard of the novels. "Well... I can't say I've read them exactly... but I'm sure I've seen them somewhere! They sound quite familiar. A writer indeed, it's my pleasure." With a smile, she bowed again, and then offered her hand.

Tar burst in to the conversation with reckless abandon.
"Sorry to interrupt, Nurr, but I LOVE The Clock Struck Thirteen!" There was a silence. "What? I don't only know movies. I know, cliche, but I love Agatha Christie. And Then There Were None was so amazing."
"Oh right, what were we saying? The door. Nurr, would you like to join us on our little adventure?"

"It is unfortunate that the Horseman's efforts to repairing the repercussions from his entrance were in vain, but it is his task and his task alone." Kit gestured to the idling depressing Horseman. "But, it is a noble thought to help him. Perhaps tools would better aid him this time? Follow me. The toolbox is in fact not in the wine cellar, to my disappointment, but in the cloakroom."
Kit waved a hand signaling for them to follow. "Right this way." She left the ballroom, turned down the hall towards the entrance and went to open the closet door. The Horse that was stored there neighed objectively as Kit awkwardly and as gently as she could, shoved the mysterious Horse aside to get to the rather large toolbox behind the rack of coats.
"Here we are," she muttered, and with all her might dragged the large metal box by one of its handles. "Thanks, Horsey." She said and closed the door again.
Kit propped the locks open and lifted the lid revealing....
"Nothing's in here." She proclaimed, "where are the tools?" She pulled out all the fancy little drawers but neither nail nor screw could be found.

Nienna of Rohan looked up at the mansion curiously from underneath her hood, half nervous, half excited for the party. She put down her hood, revealing her face as she slowly opened the door to the mansion. "Hi." She managed to squeak as all the guests stared at her, "What's up?"

Saxon had slipped in quietly. Everyone was still crowded around in the room with the punch bowl, and there were plenty of discussions going on. One about books had taken a turn towards Agatha Christie.
"I've always preferred The Body in the Library," she said, joining their discussion.

"There aren't any tools, Kit? That's...odd."
Tar pondered for a moment, and then shrugged.
"Well, so long as we don't have some crazy horror movie stuff going on here, some missing tools aren't really that big of a deal, right? Well, I'm just going to get some more punch."
Tar walked back to the punch bowl, and immediately launched back into an Agatha Christie conversation.

Kit looked pointedly at Tar-Samara, "I liked my tools."

Fragile stared at the empty tool box, perplexed. "Have you loaned your tools to anyone, Kit? It seems odd that they would all be gone at once..." she glanced over her shoulder as Tar hurried back to the main room and then turned back to Kitoky. "Do you think the door will be alright the way it is?"

Eyes widening a bit at this new development, Aria giggled nervously. "Well, uh, that's, uh, odd? I suppose. There are a lot of people here though... maybe someone needed to use... uh... all the tools? All at once?"
It sounded completely idiotic now that she said it, and Aria just kept staring at the toolbox. "Maybe the horse ate them," she said, attempting a lame joke to lighten the tension.

"Or perhaps they've simply been misplaced," Saxon pointed out. "It's hardly something to worry about, though, is it?"

Silent as ever, Nienna decided to quietly head over to the punch bowl, managing another very quietly said hi.

Kit called upon one of the maids. "Pliff, when did you last see the tools?"
The unsuspecting maid rose her eyebrows at the question, "Yusef was last using them... or at least the hammer and the duct tape to fix up the back window earlier. He had me put them away before the guests started arrived."
Kit frowned.

Having finished a glass of punch, Galatea was starting to feel quite friendly. A seemingly shy newcomer made her way to the punch bowl. Galatea smiled and introduced herself. "How are you this evening?" she asked.
