Unfotunately, murders just weren't as shocking to Violet anymore, so all she could do was sigh heavily. But why Kitty? She had seemed nice...
"Mass-produced chocolate isn't the best, but when you get good, old-fashioned, home-made American fudge...now that is amazing. Especially with huckleberries," she added, thinking that she might as well toss her own opinion into the mix. "I love dark chocolate, though...not only does it taste better, but it's actually healthy for you." She glanced at Kitty's limp body. "Most of the time."

Kitty was roused by the grumbling of her stomach around 11 PM. Most of the guests had wandered up to the attic to search out a costume, or were sound asleep in bed. As Kitty became more aware of her surroundings, she remembered she had taken her Jedi costume upstairs and retired early, apparently without remembering to eat dinner. Unable to shake the hunger, Kitty roamed down the stairs to get a quick snack. Suddenly, Kitty remembered that there were several massive barrels of candy in the kitchen. "Mmm," Kitty thought, "Chocolate sounds good right now." Upon reaching the kitchen, Kitty found that there were Kit-Kat, Snickers, Take 5, and Polo Mints. Opting for the snickers, Kitty opened it up and turned to head back upstairs, planning to eat as she returned to bed. Kitty took the first bite of her yummy chocolate treat, and, as she chewed, realized something was very wrong. Kitty's breathing quickly became labored and she was struggling to stay conscious. Before she was even able to process what had happened, Kitty died.
Kitty became conscious of her existence and realized she was somewhere in the mansion. As more pieces fell into place, Kitty remembered what had happened and realized she had, somehow, wandered into the dining room. "So this is what its like to be dead," she thought dryly. Kitty walked past the mirror and noticed her reflection. Her usually mahogany hair had a silvery sheen to it now, and her skin was a pearly white and somewhat less...vital. Other than that, she felt she looked very similar. Wondering where the other guests were and whether they had found her body yet, Kitty wandered the mansion until she heard a very distinct scream. "Kit?" she called, wondering why on earth Kit would be screaming. Then she remembered. "Oh yeah," she thought, "They probably found me." Wandering into the kitchen, Kitty saw the guests crowded around the barrels of chocolate she had herself discovered last night. Addressing the guests, Kitty said "Hello, everyone. What are we all looking at?"

"I'm more of a milk chocolate and white chocolate person" said The Horseman. "I'm not fond of dark either Kit" he said.
The Horeman jumped as he heard the voice of the recently departed, Kitty.

Deria also glanced at Kit. "When did these barrels get down here, anyway? I mean, in case of...er...tampering." She paused. "Come to think of it, a fair amount of them were likely poisoned, or whatever's wrong with them. I mean, the chances of Kitty eating the only poisoned one?" It was a disturbing thought.

“Yeah, what Deria said” Dana started uncertainly, “if it was poisoned chocolate, maybe Kitty just stumbled upon a trap by accident...? It might've been set for someone else..”
It felt a little odd discussion the death of a person in front of said person's ghost, she found.

"It would be a very bad way to set a murder trap. I mean, think of everything that could go wrong...different people eating the chocolate...unless they were meant to kill us all because we were all poisoned by them???" Now THAT was a horrible thought.
