Nia beamed at her, "Oh we're doing just fine thank you!!." Karl looked slightly amused.

Larael, no longer disguised under the mask of Lady Death, swept into the mansion's grand hall, taking in the beautiful surroundings. She stood on tip toe for a moment, gazing out over the crowd to find her Lord Death.

lord Death strod ein, searching for his beloved lady.

Seeing her, he made his way over to her, kissed her hand and said "It is a pleasure to see you here" with a mischievous grin on his face.

"What shall we do?Dance? Drink? Mingle?" he asked playfully.

"A dance would be lovely," Larael said, smiling back, "It's about time we had our dance. It has been quite long awaited." Larael took Lord Death's arm and led the wayto the ornately decorated ballroom.

"Of course" replied Lord Death smiling. "Its about time we had that dance...."

Larael allowed herself to be led back to the banquet hall where a small group of people had gathered. She scooped up two glasses of the sparkling punch and handed one to Lord Death.

"Thank you m'lady" said Mephiston, accepting the glass of punch handed to him by Larael.
He raised it slightly and said "A toast. To this ball. And the company " he said grinning inanely. He drank a little of the punch. Warming, he thought, but somehow marvellously refreshing.

Larael raised her glass slightly. "And to you, of course, for waiting for me." She sipped at her punch and shivered. The hall was getting quite drafty as night fell, and she couldn't wait for the fire to be lit in the hall.

Mephiston turned red a little at the compliment, and replied "It was a pleasure to do so"
Seeing his escort shiver from the cold, Mephiston removed his black cloak at once and placed the mighty garment over Laraels shoulders..

"Ah, thank you," Larael said, setting her glass down and pulling about her shoulders. She glanced around the empty room and sighed. "I was expecting to have a bit more company than this," she said, gesturing at the general emptiness.

"Ah well, in the company of many a person may laugh freely, and not be amused at all. While there is few *gestures around* the laughter must be perfectly genuine" said Mephiston, emptying his glass and taking another from the table.
"We will just have to be better company then" said Mephiston after a brief paused, smiling lopsidedly
"So, you and I. What shall we talk of?"
