"Hmm," PD raised her eyebrows at TT. "yeah, I bet you don't." She frowned. "Yes, spacing out. I was worried about my costume... got a problem with that?"
PD looked over at Suzy. "Leave? Wouldn't that hurt Kit's feelings?"

"I don't. As a matter of fact--" TT stopped. How had she and PD even managed to get at each other's throats so quickly? The thought of that made TT giggle, which absolutly ruined the sharp retort she had intended to throw back at PD. "Nah... it's all good... 'cept that Kitty's dead, but... yeah..."

Susy sighed, "I can't win. I just can't win. Oh, and did someone ask if Kitty had given any clues? She was killed by a poisoned Snickers bar, stuffed in a barrel of candy, and sheet music of "Many Meetings". I think that's it."

Susy let out a yelp when Kit suddenly grabbed her arm. "I'm not leaving right now. I would only do that is things got way worse! I said I'd leave before all of us died. If there comes a time when only three of us are left, then I will leave."

The Signora Psyche Zenobia entered the kitchen, quite behind the times. She had been feverishly writing her account of Lydia's and Evening's deaths, and had completely missed the most recent murder. She was annoyed at this killer for choosing the most inconvenient times to murder. She was further annoyed when she discovered the most recent victim had been poisoned by chocolate!
"Chocolate!" she cried outrageously. "Can we not have some carnage?! This murderer is far too sweet."
Suddenly, and quite unexpectedly, a little voice materialized in the back of her mind: "Perhaps this is an important clue," it said.
Quite shocked, the Signora Psyche Zenobia said aloud, "Who is it that kills with poison, spider bites, and pillows? Someone who can't kill by brute force. I do not believe the killer is someone physically very powerful."
In a unusually reflective state-of-mind, Psyche Zenobia began sizing up her fellow guests.
"Furthermore," she continued, having another revelation, "'Many Meetings' (I have heard) is an elven song. I suggest the killer is an elf."
And she sat down smugly, very pleased with her deductions.

PD stared quizzically at TT as she started to laugh. "Umm, ok then." She tried to hold the confused, concerned (for TT's sanity) expression but finally she had to grin. "Well, Kitty seems to be adapting well," PD commented.
She turned her attention to Kit and Susy. "Sounds more (much, much more) then reasonable to me," she interjected.

"Oh," Kit said and straightened herself. "Well then... I think we should prepare for the kids to come now!" She waved around for everyone to take their own barrel.
"Actually, ma'am, we have buckets here, if the guests can't take an entire barrel..." Manny suggested.
"Fine," Kit heaved a dramatic sigh and took up a bucket and filled it with candy. "Each one of you may take a bucket and go to a room in each of the house. No, don't worry, I'll keep the children out of the kitchen since I don't think they'll find it appealing to see a real dead body, especially one resulting from eating <i>candy</i>. Go on now, I'll be opening the doors to the mansion soon."

PD grabbed a bucket and scurried off with it (as quickly as her bulky gown and tedious heels would let her) to a vacant room to wait for the little kiddies to come. She had trouble fitting through the doorway, however, due to the huge (and we're talking huge here, people) wig on her head. Hey, she was going the whole way with this costume thing. She looked like she stepped straight out of 1700's France. "Ooof," she huffed, wishing she had gone with the Southern Belle Civil War era gown instead. She bunched up her skirts and maneuvered her head just so so that she could fit into the room. It was hard work considering if she moved in just the wrong way the weight of the wig would cause her to go falling down in an ungraceful heap. Finally she got in and slammed the door behind her.

Fragile stayed in the background of the discussion until Kit mentioned beginning the trick or treating. This seemed a much more cheerful subject.
She decided against wearing any costume other than her long, flowing dark blue dress and white cloak. Fragile took a bucket and filled it up with candy, then wandered out to find a position to wait for children. She eventually decided on the library, though she made sure to maintain a respectful distance from the bookcases. It wouldn't do for any children to knock one over in their dash for candy.

Susy grabbed a bucket and filled it to the brim with candy. She then made her way into the dinning room. She set her candy on the table and proceeded to get ready for the onslaught of kids.

Deria placed herself right in the entrance hall with candy. She had doffed the ballerina costume after standing on pointe for too long and was back in the crimson-and-black-outfit with nice black high-heels with crystal accents, the crystal hair sticks back in a neat bun. At least there'll be lots of kids so I'm less likely to get killed, right? she thought. Though only a stupid killer would strike with so many people about. Then again, we've been thinking of poison, haven't we.... She retreated into the library, hoping someone would join her.

PD was on edge waiting for the children to come. What if they killed her? I mean, she wasn't much of a "children person" to begin with... sooo.... she glanced at herself in the mirror and took a deep breath. She had to be mentally prepared for this. She pushed open the door to the bedroom she was hiding in and peeked out, leaving it ajar. Still no one. The hallway was empty.
