When the quartz crisis happened, plenty of manufacturers did die. But the entire industry of mechanical link timekeeping stayed alive. The 2008 economic crisis accelerated the decimation of industries that failed link to adapt. Blockbuster Video, which went bankrupt in 2010, is the classic link example. Meanwhile, horology's evolving commerce models and ambitious design aesthetics are all indicators that our industry is absolutely thriving. |

In any event, when I saw link the announcement of this new GMT Series today, my jaw dropped a bit. This gave me the same sort of surprising tingle I get from a killer link new release from Rolex, especially one I didn't see coming – and I certainly didn't see link this coming. |
