Post subject:  The Official AU Hobbit Ball
Hello all! This is the official [as deemed by Ivy] planning thread for the AU Hobbit Ball which will take place this Wednesday. Aye, I know it's short notice, but I think we're all in agreement that everyone would feel better with a bit of planning. So, basically this is a one for all thread. Feel free to post who you're "going with" [I'll gladly make a list!], what you're wearing [if it's anything special], what kind of decorations/food/music you want to have, etc. :)

I think I'll be wearing hobbit attire to the ball...just so it's easier to move about. You know, something that they wore at Bilbo's birthday party. I currently have no date, and could probably be of little help with the decorations. :confused:

Oh, I want to attend! (tries to contain excitement) This time around I think that I would like to take a fictional character. So I want to take William Turner as my date. (If you could/would please add us to the list I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance! :-D) Now I always get dressed up for special events so this is what I will be wearing http://www.edressme.com/sundresses.html The one that I shall be wearing is in the seventh row (going from top to bottom), is the very middle one, and it is called "Coral eyelet Strapless dresses from Tibi). :-D Then I shall be wearing my hair like Elizabeth has her hair in this picture http://potc-online.net/pictures/display ... m=3&pos=12 :-D I can not wait to attend! I am sure that it shall be great fun. :-D

Hmm...to find something hobbity...

Here's something! It's fun and summery. http://www.edressme.com/dresses65374.html (Plus it'll go with my hobbit name: "Goldie" :P )

I'll curl my hair to make it hobbit-like, of course. :) And no date for me. Anyone going in a group of friends?

As for decorations...

We'll need a banner across the Party Tree, of course. Lots of flowers! Balloons, too. Even if they didn't have them in the Shire, we can bring some along. What's a party without balloons?

Also...what should the different threads or meeting places be called? We'll have a place for getting food, of course, and perhaps The Party Tree could serve as a main meeting area, or for chatting. Games and goofiness could be directed towards the Swimming Hole (I assume they have one-or the stream 'The Water' as Ivy suggested) and there will have to be a creative name for the dance floor.

Are we going to have a dance floor like the rest of the balls? Oh, and lots of fireworks! ;)

Ooo, shiny-offical-thread-ness! :D Well I doubt I'll be going with anyone, Curi doesn't do balls. :P But I shall attend, and hopefully find a dress from somewhere too. :lol:

At the moment I have no date. I may go alone... it depends. But anyways... here's my outfit (I love the sundress idea!)

Elven Archer, Oh you are one hundred percent right about the fire works! We just have to have them. It just would not be the same without some of Gandalf's grand fireworks. Firworks...(sneaky thoughts) I might just have to pull a Merry and Pippin thoguh and (bring some fireworks and) shoot some off myself. ;) Then again that might get dangerous seeing as how my uncle did that once (though I think that he might have had a firecracker...instead of a firework...but I am not sure) and he wound up in the hospital and whenever I cook I set everything a flame...oh well I still might try it! :-D So I vote yes to the fireworks!

RinielAranel, Steal away. :-D Ooh, I really like how your dress is such a bright yellow color. It adds to all of the summer feel that is in the air. It matches perfectly and I think that curling your hair like a Hobbit is a great idea too.
Well I am taking William Turner (from Pirates of the Caribbean) as my date but I am sure that I will be hanging out with all of my friends as well. :)

LuthienStarLover, I really like your dress as well. I like the way it is made and the color is very nice. I also love that necklace. It has sure an earthy feel to it and I think that that goes great with the theme for the ball. :-D

This is going to be so much fun! :bounce:
