Alright. I'm not sure that this is what the makers of Star Wars used for the movie, but it sounds just like it.

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Get a metal slinky and set it end-up on a table.

2. Grab the slinky about 1/4 the way down from the upward facing end.

3. Pick it up off the table - don't let the dangling end touch anything

4. Hold the side of the slinky up to your ear at tap it gently with your finger.

... Sounds just like blaster shots, right?

Lol, thought this was cool.

Hehehe...SO glad I'm not the only person who's noticed this. :teehee: No one gives me metal slinkies any more because I'll just sit there with them up to my ear grinning like a [s]lunatic[/s] very enthusiastic but perfectly sane person.

If I ever make a Star Wars fanfilm (I wish), that's totally what I'm using to get my blaster sound effects.

 I'm not sure who first found it out in our family - I think it was my sister. It is quite amusing, isn't it?

OOoooh, and I shall help you make this fanfilm remake! Slinkeys everywhere! :P Jk.
