I'm slowly really getting more than annoyed by it!!!

There are people on there who change their names three times a day and I always have problems to find out who had been who!
It starts confusing me but mostly really pissing me off!!!
I mean, what are usernames for? A username, like every other name is an identidy and if you change that three times a day or a week, then you have some problems, seriously, then you need help.

I'm talking right to the mods or administrators now...there has to be done something against it!

I DO NOT want any flaming right now or "I am sorry you think like this" speeches, but I want serious suggestions, because this had been driving me crazy for a long time!!!
I mean, is it that difficult?!
I am on lots of other boards and there, mysteriously it works perfectely with ONE username you chose ONE TIME!!!!!!!
So THINK about it, damnit!!! THINK before you CHANGE!!!
Is it that difficult to keep a username, or have you just made this name up without thinking?!
Like I said, don't change your usernames like you change your pants!
Don't throw this identidy away!
This is NO fun anymore for me!!!
I think there are some people like me who think the same (or you are all just missing the basic point here)

I DON'T WANT ANY Three pages "I am sorry" essays now!!!!
Every person who writes such things is just blind and plain stupid and can't solve problems! It's not time to TALK about it!!! It's time to DO something against it!!!

Seriously, I want to finish this topic, I want a SENSEFUL SOLUTION and I expect at least SOME understandment from the moderators!!!

A while back there were talks about limiting how often you can change your username, but it never really got off the ground. With Arwen so busy these days, there's only so much the moderators can do anyway.

The name changes have been for this Chameleon club thing going on, like JF stated. I see nothing wrong with it personally. It isn't hard to figure out who is who and the members participating are enjoying themselves and having a good time. I think it only lasts for a week anyways, so no need to get angry or anything. Just let them have their fun. They put in their sigs who they are and that is enough for me. I kind of enjoy watching what they change into next. I myself am not participating but I might if they ever do it again.

Name changes in general don't bother me, people have reasons for wanting or needing their names changed when something like Chameleon week isn't going on. Having the option to change your username when and if needed I find very efficient.

Yeah, it can be annoying when people change their name excessivley, but I think it's good to have the option so that you don't get stuck with something you hate. And it sounds like the Chamelon club may have explained most of the problem.

Wow, you know we're doing our job if we've already managed to make people rather angry at us.

And though it's already been said, I feel like as part of the Chameleon Club, I should reiterate what most people have already said.

It's only going on for a week, and it's just a bit of fun. Quite a few of us have kept a certain part of our name (I've kept Tar, and smeagollum has kept smeag, etc). Even though some of us haven't, we've all been very good about keeping what our names have been in our signatures.

It's only going on for a week, and you just happened to drop in while it was right in the middle of the chaos.

And it really hasn't been a problem with other members. If everyone really had such a problem with it, we'd definitely tone it down, but so far, it hasn't been too much of an issue.
