Kit shuffled into the ballroom from the far entrance and made her way through the crowd of guests, "Excuse me... hostess coming through---hey, would you scooch, you're not that big."

She made her way to the front of the crowd that marveled at the sight of the extraordinary guest before them. "I go away for one trip to the loo--- .... Honestly? You couldn't make that a little less extreme? Now the door's busted and it's only the start of the event." With hands on hips, she tried to look for some suitable area above the Headless Horseman's shoulders to focus on.

"And.... we... don't have a place for the horse."

Fluffy walked to the middle of the ballroom, facing the Horseman. "Well that was a delighting joke" she sighed and she let out a high giggle. On the first sight Fluffy was the innocence itself: she was rather small, had a quite pale skin and her big blue eyes always looked at the world in wonder. For this occasion she was dressed in a beautiful black gown which she thought matched the theme of the evening.
"Oh come on now Kit.." she said again with her giggle. "You shouldn't spoil the joke now." She looked at Kit with a sweet smile and offered the headless Horseman a drink.
"Should I pour it into your collar?"

Nurrantiel shivered delightfully as she mounted the steps to the porch. Looking around her at the ghostly fog, listening to the howling wind, she was caught up in the moment. Quickly, Nurr pulled out her small notebook and began to scribble down a few lines. Perfect setting for my next story, she thought to herself with a smile. Now, just to have the right per- Her thoughts were broken as a horse and rider whirled by her, terrifying to behold. The horse reared and, cowering, Nurrantiel could see that its rider had no head. With one swift kick, the door shattered and the Horseman rode into the room.

Writing furiously, Nurrantiel peeked into the room to see the Horseman distribute his pumpkins and be reprimanded in turn. Deciding her life was not at risk thus far, she stepped around the bits of the door and into the welcoming warmth of the house.

Tucking her notebook away, Nurr clapped as she penetrated further into the room. "Brilliant entry! Couldn't have written a better one myself. And that's saying something, as I am a writer. Of no less than three novels, I might add." She swept off her cloak with a flourish.

Fluffy clapped her hands as she heard Kit's approving words, the tingling of her bracelets almost echoed in the room. "Jolly good!"
She looked at the other guests who still looked with some fear at the Horseman and sighed. Some people just didn't have any sense of humour. Her face cheered up as the door opened again and another guest entered.
"Brilliant." she smiled as she approached Nur, someone who could help her to get hte party started again. "Ghastly weather don't you think?" she asked the author sweetly.

Galatea stared curiously as a pumpkin rolled to rest at her feet, its glowing face grinning at her. Gathering the folds of her emerald dress in one hand, she knelt and picked up the jack-o-lantern. Fascinated, she turned it over in her hands, peered inside, trying to find what made it glow. She hesitated a moment, then made up her mind and walked over to join a small group that had gathered.

"This is very strange," she said, holding up the pumpkin. "I've never seen one before. Did you make it?" she asked The Horseman.
