At 18:00 GMT and 13:00 EST, two girls from a LotR forum spoke for the first time... ON THE PHONE! Yes, this is the story of how Aramel and Lothy, seperated by thousands of miles, had their first ever phone call together.

Good for you, guys! :-D It must be weird talking to someone who's thousands of miles away O_o Especially weird because when you're on the phone with someone they always sound like they're really close - and in this case you're definitely far away :lol:

It was really weird and so unbelievable. We spent half our time saying "Oh my god, I can't believe this!" xD

Ha ha, not to mention I almost had a heartattack from the sheer amazingness of it! I think it went great for my first real life encounter with another AUer! :yes:

When I picked up and she first asked, "Ashley?" I about died right then and there... for a while I was still physically shaking because never in a million years did I think I'd find myself talking to someone from AU via phone. But it was a great experience! [Despite all of the awkward little pauses and "Oh my god" 's floating around]

Like Lothy pointed out to me, it was really weird how clearly we could hear each other... and her accent is so adorable! I officially want a British accent now - they are love <3

When she answered all I could hear was a squeal of "OHMYGODYESITIS!!!" I was shaking too, but then my mum brought me a cup of tea and I calmed down.

I'm not joking though, as soon as we hung up I let out a few breaths and suddenly let out a massive "EEEEEEEEEEE!" and started jumping up and down. :blush:

Haha, sounds like that awkward webcam chat we had back in February. :P



Phones are so scary. xD I doubt I could carry out a sensible conversation with an AUer over the phone.
