Welcome to ROTR 2010!
As you probably know, this year’s ROTR has been restructured into a friendly competition. That means that we’ll have to work together as a team to earn as many points as we can. The contests will vary, so that no matter what your skill set is, you’ll be able to find a contest you like. Writing, graphics, drawing…this event has got it all!

The first challenge: Show your team spirit
Create a flag, song, or poster for your wonderful home team of Lorien. This shouldn’ be at all difficult, because Lorien is clearly very, very awesome and worthy of many songs, posters, and flags. And don’t worry, you don’t have to be super-de-duper fancy (although if you want to make it that way, be my guest). This is a fun contest, and as long as you put a reasonable amount of effort into it, that’s all that matters.

Want to show your team spirit even more? I made some banners for you to use if you choose. If you want to make more team apparel, go right ahead! My talent for creating graphics ends at banners, which is why we don't have any pretty buttons with flashy stuff. Sorry. But if you choose to make team apparel, I’ll post it here so the entire team can see it. You won’t be able gain points for it, but at least we’ll be decked out in the awesomeness of Lothlorien.

Ooo! I love the flag, Taur! Those colors are very Lothlorieny. And Freya, I wish I had your graphic skills! Keep up the excellent work, team.

Oh, and since the other teams are doing it, do any of you want to find your elvish name? You wouldn't have to use the generator if you didn't want to (because some of the names just don't seem that elvish), but it might be fun to have aliases. Tell me what you think.

That would be a neat idea. I will work on trying to make something soon, although, it will probably have hobbits in it.

Welcome Ea! Its great to have you! Have fun in Japan too. That sounds so exciting. And you're right, you are on a winning team!

Here's my flag that I made. A made the central focus of the flag a mallorn tree for obvious reasons, and the star thing above it is supposed to be Galadriel's ring, Nenya (because it protects the forest, allows it to flourish, and what not). The green bars are there...well, because it needed more colors and green is an elvish color. So there...

Hey team! How have you been? There's a new challenge up so go ahead and have fun with that. Its a fanmix challenge, meaning that you make a list of songs that you think have a theme relating to Lord of the Rings (or anything Tolkienesque.

I'm sorry I haven't been a very active team leader lately. I'd blame it on work, but to be honest it was really just laziness. My apologies.

*Breaks out refreshments of lembas bread and whatever the heck it is that Elves drink* What would they drink? What, probably, but I also think they'd be the type to sip on champagne . Well, whatever it is, go ahead and have some. 'Tis yummy stuff.

I feel like a complete dunce for missing the rewrite challenge. Why did I think it was due in August? Oh well....
