What?The Hallowfest is community event when everyone can assume an identity and participate in a two-week long role-play in honor of All Hallow's Eve. There's just one catch: one of the guests is a sadistic murderer who is killing everyone off while leaving bizarre and cryptic clues. Who is innocent? Who is guilty? And who will be next to go?
When?Sunday, October 23 to
Sunday, November 6.
Where?On the interwebs, here in A-U's Club Section. Though in
actuality, this year's Hallowfest will take place on a train, bound for Monte Carlo on the French Riviera for a sunny, murder-free fall holiday.
Who?You! Even if you're not a regular role-player, all forum members are invited to sign up as guests on this wonderful, all expenses paid, and in no way deceitful vacation. (Come on, you don't want to pass up a free trip to Monte Carlo, do you??) Just fill out and send in your profile! These profiles will all be listed on the first page of the Hallowfest role-play thread, serving as the guests' official "ID Card" from which to derive clues. (See below for the form.) You can choose whether or not to assume a character or disguise. (However, if you do assume an alias, your profile must include real information as well-- for instance, if you're going as Dracula, don't just say your favorite movies are
Dracula, Dracula 2000, and
Bram Stoker's Dracula. Please include some of your actual likes and dislikes too!)
Who? - No. 2Your gracious, kind, and wildly attractive hosts this year are
Johnny's Fan The Headless Horseman and
Taurquende (hey, that's me!).
How?The Hallowfest will commence as a regular role play: come, say hello, get to know everyone, load up your luggage, and find your cabin! We'll also have events and activities planned over the entire two weeks. But it won't be long until a body is discovered, to the shock and surprise of everyone. The guest who is killed will be PM'd of the fact, and told what they saw in their... *ahem* final moments, which will probably include a vital clue as to who killed them. They will return to the role play, with a new, silver-starred ranking denoting them as an "A-U Ghost", and tell the surviving guests what they saw. Then, the fun part begins! The finger-pointing, secret alliances, crackpot theories, & bitter widows (all true stories). As the Hallowfest progresses, more and more guests will be bumped off,
thankfully giving more clues to ponder and debate over. Periodically, all guests will vote to accuse someone, and, in a dramatic scene straight out of Agatha Christie, they will be told if the person accused is innocent or guilty.
