Dear Motorist,
Would it be too much to ask for you to put your turn signal on before you make the turn, not half way through it? It's not as though you have to hand signal and get your arm wet.

Dear week and a half long brutal heat wave,
Please go away. I'm going crazy from being stuck in my house cause it's way too damn hot to go outside. I want to go for a nice long walk. Please be reasonable and go back to more seasonal temps that one could tolerate.

Dear Oscar,
Every day I wonder how your previous owner dropped you off at a high kill shelter in Alabama because she "couldn't cope with you and the new baby". I can't imagine the fear and confusion her abandonment caused you. Thank whatever God she believes in, she had a crisis of conscience and contacted a local rescue group who went and fetched you before it was too late.
Somehow, through the kindness of strangers, you safely made the journey from Alabama to Vancouver Island where we were destined to meet.
When I brought you home with me, you were shut down from the trauma of the previous months, unsure of what was happening to you, and you barely looked at me. Over the months since then, we've worked through a couple of things together, and you have blossomed into exactly the kind of companion I sought: full of joy, friend to all, and awesome travelling companion.
I make this pledge to you. I will never abandon you. I will never treat you unkindly, or lift my hand to you except with love and respect, and when you have reached the final stage of your life, I will do everything within my power to ensure that it is without pain, or longer than you wish it to be.

Dear neighbor who drives a small school bus,
I get it that you need to clean out the bus which you do on Sunday mornings, but can you park it in front of YOUR house to do that? It is a bit hard on the lungs when you leave the diesel engine idling while you clean it out, fuming me out.
