Fact: RPs have somehow never captured my imagination, even back in the days when one bought games to play on one's stand-alone PC as the Internet wasn't up to the task yet (late 80s and the 90s). I was more into the quest games by Sierra (King's Quest 1 on a 286, now does that bring back memories of blocky pixel "graphics"!) including "Leisure Suit Larry", the Lemmings hordes, The Humans, the Lucas Arts X-Wing flighties and the odd Indiana Jones game (but oddly no Tomb Raider), Comanche helicopters, puzzle games ...
Then hanging on to my 1997 AMD K6 200 MHz tower for nine years put me out of the games market for performance (lack of it) reasons. The only thing I have played to a degree, and that also not all too recently, has been my Sokoban (cube-pusher) collection on my 2008 high-performance stand-alone tower.

So there's no chance talking you into starting an RP with me, huh? :(

Fact: After I started counting, I was stunned to find that I've been to 20 weddings/receptions and 6 only receptions. You know that quote, "Always a bridesmaid and never a bride?" I was never a bridesmaid, but when I was almost 7 years old I was a flower girl, then I was a maid of honor for my older brother's first wife, a bride at my own wedding, and a co-maid of honor at a friend's wedding.

Fact: I have attended dozens of weddings and receptions in my life, and as I think of them in hind sight, other than my last one in July 2008, they all have ended in divorce. One notable one I was going to go to in 1977 but didn't, was my cousin's. She is still happily married. Good thing I didn't go!

That said, my wife and I will be attending a wedding next month for one of her dance friends. A traditional Nepalese wedding! Should be interesting and I hope the curse is broken!

Ouch! You might want to warn your wife's friends. On second thought, they'd probably uninvited you! :P

I think all of the people I saw get married are still married except my older brother who had two weddings with his first wife and one with his second. They both divorced him. Eventually they realized what I had grown up with was never going to change for the better.

Fact: I never wanted a wedding where my Dad would walk me down the aisle. I knew he and I would both be crying, and I don't like being the center of attention. :no: Furthermore, my wedding dress was a green/blue (and it still fits! :o), not white. Yeah, I'm a rebel! :P

:lol: I remember one wedding of an old friend's son in 2010 where I was invited by the son, but because I didn't ball his aunt back in the 80's, then when I was interested in her she was interested in my roomie, then when she was interested in me again in the early 90's I had already married my 2nd wife, she talked my friend to 'talk' to me and basically uninvite me to his wedding. His son didn't know any of this. He asked why I didn't show up when I was in town about a month later, and I told him his aunt didn't want me there. Anyway, I must have already cursed that wedding as they were married barely a year when she ran off with someone, abandoning their newborn son. :huh:

Wow! That's just sad!

Fact: I name my cars... (Carjacking yet another thread! :o ) My first one was the Opel named "Hotdog", the second was a chocolate colored VW Rabbit named "Brownie", the third was a silver Golf named "Hi-Oh" (for "Hi Oh Silver! Away"! 10 points if you can name the TV show that's from), my fourth car was my very favorite and I had for it 16 years - a beautiful silver Acura Integra Coupé named "The Silver Dolphin". It kinda looked like one. My fourth car was the silver Golf I just sold. It was "The Silver Ducky". And my new Wolfsburg, a tungsten silver, is called "The Tungsten Wolf".

Fact: I don't name my cars. Except in a very vague way in that I once described my current (late November 2001 first registration) Opel Astra G Elegance, the version already loaded massively with extras compared to the basic model, and upgraded with five additional extras in a package, as a "Kadettillac".

Has three cars here with names. the 1995 Nissan 'Silver Bullet (spent), The 2011 Mitsubishi Lancer 'Spaceship' (due to all it's fancy bells and whistles and such in it. My wife gave it that name. Its more politically correct than the name I gave it... 'Nip Zero'), and the 2016 Holden Trax 'Nugget'.
