Fact: I'm obviously in good company here since no one I know names their cars except me.

It's nice to know I'm not alone!

Fact: my first car, a 1959 Ford, was called 'Ralfie' because of all the times someone had to puke while riding in it.

Hopefully they didn't puke IN the car! :o

Fact: Back in '04 I got way into creating fractals using a program called Apophysis. It's been since '08 that I've played with the program. And several years since I've looked at my account on deviantART.

The reason I'm bringing it up is because I created quite a few LotR based fractals.

You can see them here. Their titles will appear if you hover your mouse over them.

I also received a Daily Deviation for My Colorful Dragon and I won first place in the Scary Halloween contest with these guys.

My other major creation was an Apophysis Alphabet here.

Fact: the first car I was allowed to drive as of 1973 (besides the ones in driver education in senior year in high school that year) was a - for the time and place - compact little number: my mothers 1969 Mustang with a 302 cubic inch V8. I had a learner's permit and was thus allowed to drive while accompanied by an adult (one with a driver's license, of course!). :drive: :hide:

Fact: The beer festival that the relatively small city (about 108,000 inhabitants) that I live in, starting on the Thursday before Pentecost weekend (7 weeks after Easter Sunday and including the following Monday), is quite a bit older than the copycat Oktoberfest in München (Munich to Anglos, Monaco (!!!) to the Italians). Our festival dates from 1755 (though modalities have changed over the centuries, but the Pentecost weekend has always been central to it), thus having its 262nd anniversary this year, compared to the Oktoberfest, premiering in 1810 and thus a mere 207 years old this year. Though our festival area is a bit limited, snuggling up to a hill in the north of the city (and thus also grandly calling itself a "mountain" festival), on sunny days more people may be found in it than the city has inhabitants. Don't think that pathetically poor Upper Bavarian copy can top us that aspect! :punk:

Fact: The 4th Annual Eaton Hill Beerfest is this coming weekend.
And I don't mind Sierra Nevada Pale. Wish I could get it for U.S. price instead of the excise tax-heavy Australian price.

Fact: We don't have to go far for a host of different beers. Sometimes I wish I still drank... There's this place nearby called "The Yard House". It used to sell beer by a glass that was a yard tall but they broke too many so now they serve their largest in a glass that's a half yard tall. They have special, tall dishwashers to accommodate them.

Yesterday, my husband ordered one.

Only problem was, it was Coors Light! There are 135 beers ON TAP to choose from and he gets a Coors Light! :o

I needed his hand in there to show some reference to size...

I like looking at the beer pulls. Some are rather creative:

Others are just weird...

I think there are a couple of Sharks because of the local hockey team...

But I think this was my favorite. It's a Yard House special...

It makes me wonder what they all taste like...

Nice. They sell the Red Trolley here at the big beer barn. Its about $25AU a six. As for Lost Coast... their Indica is a great IPA! But the brewers are getting rather far out there with the experiments. a local brewery, Bacchus, is always experimenting with brewing different beers. Ross has some hits, but he has just as many misses. Me... I'll take a good IPA.
