They're HTML codes to make numbers/letters appear above the other numbers/letters, like the TM in trademark or exponents in math. If you go to your profile and set "Always allow HTML" to yes, you won't see the codes anymore

I believe you had BB code turned off in your profile - you needed it turned on to make the images show up (I turned it on for you; hope you don't mind). |
