Well, at least the coffee that we had bought for a long time, and gave a new chance in our last supermarket buying binge, seems to adhere to the tradition of containing caffeine. And while it has not been an improvement in other aspects, at least it was also not a degradation. Which may be something to be thankful for in the age of multinational (suspicion: driven by criminal energy) food companies. |

I'm not counting. 5 cups, though, sound plausible if my wife and I manage to split our full pot 50-50. But since I'm not counting, I have no idea how often that actually is the case. |

I try to fool myself into thinking my coffee consumption is less than it actually is. While I only drink one mug of coffee daily, the mug holds 15oz of coffee.

Well, we use regular coffee cups with saucers, definitely smaller than the mugs we also have: the cups hold a tad above 150 milliliters. With the imperial fluid ounce being equivalent to 28.4 ml, and the US fluid ounce to 29.57 ml, not being too nitpicky about it that cup holds a bit below 5½ floz - or your mug holds about three of our cups, E~S!

My wife made ice coffee recently. To get at the vanilla ice crean, I dumped the ice (vaguey cube) bits of frozen water down into the brushes immediately below our balcony. |

We descaled our coffee machine again a couple of days ago. The manufacturer recommends it about every 40 pots. |

That German bit must be some time ago, as now this company is owned by some obscure Chinese conglomerate. So descaling according to the current instruction manual may be useful, as there are massive quality differences between anything produced in Germany and China (and when it comes to things produced in the US, I have no real idea towards which end US-produced things tend - but I would guess towards the Chinese end. Something somebody should tell the thundering moron Duhnald to explain why US exports are so weak). |
