Ha! Marlon Brando...I haven't seen many of his films, but there's this story in my family of how my grandfather met him when one of his movies was filming in Montana. I think Marlon Brando was motorcycling around the countryside and his bike broke down, and my grandfather was staying at the farm that helped get Marlon back to the set. Or something like that

Loved Marlon Brando as Colonel Kurtz in Apocolypse Now!

Vito Corleone in Godfather 1 and Colonel Kurtz in Apocolypse Now were really good roles (and two that I have on DVD). Haven't seen much else of his, but he also seems to have had a bit of a low point in roles for a while - maybe something like when Elvis Presley was forced into those abominabe films, and the endless Vegas shows by "Colonel Tom" Parker, that abobination of a Tin Pan Alley suit who almost managed to ruin Elvis's career. In some utterly weird film, Brando played a Japanese! (made me think of those so-bad-they-become-good-again Charlie Chan movies of way back when).

Ye-hes. As I mentioned above: "Haven't seen much else of his". Spontaneously, "A Streetcar Named Desire" based on the Tennessee Williams play (Brando had also played Stanley Kowalski on the stage, on Broadway) comes to mind. And the controversial "Last Tango in Paris" directed by Bernardo Bertolucci. And some "Superman" stuff. I (believe I) know you're sceptical about Wikipedia. Comment there is "The 1960s saw Brando's career take a downturn." Like that of Elvis, who was almost 11 years younger. But popular musicians, now more so that ever, tend to have an earlier expiration date (and don't get me started on the dead-by-27 set).
