I think writing lots like that is really one of the best things to do. I have writen countless stories throughout my short life and have really only finished 5-7 of them. (non published)
But the more you write the more you can look back on your old writing s and you can see how much you have improved. That has always been incoraging to me. Allso If you know you are never going to publish one book you can always look back and get ideas from it and maybe use some in the one you want to publish.
heh...I have been writing books since I was 4, no kidding. Books I have finised: 2. And these are very short books. I'm sure I've mentioned before the file cabinets in my room filled with the first chapters of stories.
But, even tho I do look back at them and see how awful they are (I can't imagine I would write about stuff so shallow!), I can't bear to part with them. They show my metamorphosis as a young writer...or something like that.
Now I'm working on a fantasy series. My problem is that I create , I don't write...so I've got an entire plot worked out for the nine books, most of the characters squared down (with only a few nameless), and a good idea of the theme. I've just only written 4 chapters of the first book.
Oh, well. Just have to keep working at it!
