The Grey Havens
(From Frodo's POV)


I turn to you,
and look you in the eye.
I take a deep breath,
and try not to cry.

“We set out to save the Shire, Sam,
hoping that something better would come to be.
And it has been saved, my friend,
but not for me.

I tell him my time here is over;
It’s done; It’s at an end.
I tell him I know that it is hard,
but I know that we’ll meet again.

And so we hug, one last time,
and as tears fall from our eyes,
We cry together, one last time,
and say our final good byes.

And then I give to him, the book,
that Bilbo and I wrote.
I tell him the last pages are for him,
And then I turn, and climb onto the boat.

One last time, I look over my shoulder,
and smile at my friends.
The long journey, that together we took,
has finally come to end.

And then I turn away from them,
and we set sail, to leave forevermore.
And as I turn, I see a glimpse,
of silver glass, and white shores.

That is soooo sad!!! I love it though- you made me get tears in my eyes. Even though that scene is so sad, it is also one of my favorites, and you captured the emotion perfectly. I love it!! (Honestly, you get better and better with your poetry all the time. :) )

Anytime, daughter. :hug: I know... I just haven't had time to keep up lately!! I'll try to post some new ones soon. Mostly I'm just working on that story that I'm writing, and it's still not ready to post yet. ;) :)

Wow, that poem is awesome. You managed to get it to rhyme without the rhyming seeming forced. And that is some achievement. And you managed to capture the soul of the moment too, both from the movie and the book. *appluades loudly* I like that poem a lot *wishes he could write like that*

Aw, thankis, Darrell!!! I wrote this poem @ the dinner table like week ago. lol it jsut kinda came to me. idk y. Hey, & if u like poetry, if u havent tried writing it, try anyway!! Jax tried 2 get me 2 write forever & then i finally did & ended up really enjoying it!!! :-Pso go for it!! & thanks so much for the input u guys!! i really do appreciate it!! *hugs* :)

Very nice! That provoked a emotion, and that is something that poems don't usually do unless they have a specific relation to past events in my life that are emotional trials. lol It was very nicely done and very much portrayed the scene in the movie. :) *thumbs up* *grins*
