A poem I wrote, for the loss of our beloved cat, Ginger. Who just passed away today. Im working hard, no harms flow around me. All content, with peace and joy. Until it struck me, like a tidal wave, she is gone, no more to stay. Dripping blood surrounds her head, hit harshly, a common mistake. Steam fills my face, tears well in my eyes, she is really gone, no more to stay. Angry, sad all at once, I realize now, I've lost a loved one. Up in my room, the darkness concealing me, I write this poem for her, so she shall stay with me. One thing I know, and something I hoped, that this was not her real home, but up and above. |
