Post subject:  Story of Nerachai Currently PG

Alright, I'm sorry this bounces around and is nowhere near finished but I would just like some comments of what I have so far....It is not in any particular setup....There is A LOT more that goes in the middle, everything is in the order it's going to be until the line..then it gets a little jumpy.. I just havn't gotten a visit from my muse lately so I write in spurts....Just let me know what you guys think..

Her eyes full of tears as he walked away, "Please, don't leave me here" she pleaded. Pain in his heart, he had no choice. He turned and walked away from her. Try as she might to restrain them the tears escaped from her dark blue eyes.
Nerachai suddenly awoke from her dream; sweat dripping off her soft face. As she collected her thoughts she slowly dressed for the day. She was young, only about 400 years old, with eyes like the ocean. Her golden hair fell to her waist and framed her porcelain face. She hurried down the stairs for breakfast with her mother and 2 older brothers. Anxiety filled her delicate face as she glided effortlessly through the halls of her home. Try as she might she could not shake the horrid memory she had just relived.
Her brothers, Melcindomien and Eruheran, were twins. They were about 200 years older than Nerachai. She often looked to them for help and guidance. Although they were twins Melcindomien and Eruheran were very different. Eruheran had dark hair that near reached the middle of his back, which he often wore in a half ponytail to keep it out of his eyes. He also took his studies very seriously and devoted all of his time and energy into them. He loves the poetry and songs of his people and his people's history.
Melcindomien, on the other hand, had blonde hair much like Nerachai, which reached the center of his back and wore in a half ponytail braid. Melcindomien loved the forest and would often linger off into them whenever he had a free moment. He studied archery and was a near perfect shot almost all of the time. He had chosen a life of solitude in order to provide for his mother and 2 other siblings.
As they gathered around the table, in preparation of their morning meal, Melcindomien took notice to Nerachai to ask what was wrong. She insisted that it was nothing and asked for the topic to be dropped before their mother walked in. So it was, for the moment anyway.
Soon after Nerachai and her brothers sat down their mother arrived from her morning ride. She was a beautiful woman with dark brown wavy hair that nearly reached the ground and eyes like the midnight sky. Her face was beautiful but stern. She was a very strong woman and was well able to care for herself and her children. She ruled her home steadily but not distantly and was never to consumed with her duties to mae time for her children, the center of her world, for they were all that she had left of her love. Her name was Inimeitiel.
All three children greeted their mother happily. As they sat down, Inimeitiel looked at Nerachai and asked if everything was okay. Nerachai responded, "Yes, everything is fine mother." Desperately wanting to change the subject, asked, "How was your morning ride?" "Simply delightful" her mother responded smiling at her. Afterward, the table conversations were just small chitchat about the days planned activities and various filler conversations.
When breakfast had commenced Nerachai and the twins took their horses out for a morning ride. Melcindomien then proceeded to interrogate Nerachai while riding. "What's wrong with you?" he asked " I told you to drop it, why can't you leave anything alone?" she replied. "It's my job as an older brother not to." Nerachai rolled her eyes and got off of her chestnut horse, Diatamiah, and led him under the shade of a tall oak tree. Melcindomien and Eruheran followed. Nerachai sat at the base of the tree leaning her back against its mighty trunk. Her brothers followed and sat on either side of her.
As the three sat in silence Nerachai was hoping that her brothers would just go away. She wanted to be alone. She needed to think. Never was there a time when anyone would let her be alone, unless she was safely in her room.
Eruheran looked at Nerachai. "Look we know something's up, you've been acting strange all morning." Trying to suppress any tears that began to form. " Do you remember that day when father had to leave?" Both her brothers, obviously taken aback by this question looked at one another in silence. Finally Eruheran replied, "Of course we do, I don't think anyone in this family will forget that dreadful day." "Why do you ask such a question?" Melcindomien asked. "I had a dream about it last night, shook me up is all." Melcindomien and Eruheran exchanged suspicious looks. " I promise that's all" Nerachai said in reply to seeing their suspicion.
For the twin brothers know her all to well, because that was not all that was bothering her. When her father had left some 350 years ago it had been to save his family. She knew this. What she did not understand is what her father said to her before he had left. What did he mean? How could he possibly come and return to her after 350 years with no word he was even still alive. She didn't want to think on it any longer. Nerachai simply wiped it from her mind. She turned to her brothers as she began to stand, “we had better get back home before mother gets worried." She called Diatamiah to her, mounted and began to ride back. Her brothers followed suit calling their horses to them and following only seconds behind their baby sister.
Once back home Nerachai put the horrible dream behind her for the rest of the day.
She often spent her days with her brothers. She spent many hours of the day with Melcindomien learning how to properly defend herself with a sword and was also taught how to properly shoot a bow. She was a quick learner and was soon catching up to her brothers' skill level. She also spent many hours with Eruheran learning the arts of their people. She was very intelligent, even for her race, her intelligence far surpassed most.
On this particular day she went to see her brother in much the same way as she had done so many times before. Her brother smiled at her as she arrived in his studio near the river. "What are we talking about today Eruheran?" she asked. He smiled as he pulled out a book and handed it to her. "That." She looked at the book with slight confusion. "The rise of the Sleynorian's." the book title read. "Why on earth are we talking about this, I already know how our people rose." He just smiled. "I know, but this is important right now." Nerachai sat in a chair while her brother began to speak to her about their people. "As you already know," he began "Sleynorian's are a gentle race. Decedents of elves we are, almost indistinguishable from them. With love of all that is around them, even their enemies. We love every grain of sand and every single blade of grass. Every spider to every horse. We love them all. It is our duty to protect them. However, our race possesses something the elves do not. Yes, immortality and healing powers are one thing. However, some are said to have a power so mighty thats the Gods would kneel before it." Nerachai suddenly realized what her brother was speaking of. "Nalinomien" she said aloud. Eruheran looked at her with sorrowful eyes. "Yes" he replied. "However, it is said that only one Sleynorian will possess this gift at one single time." he continued. "When that Sleynorian has renounced its power it will be passed on. The receiver is chosen through a bloodline. One that is noble and true to their race. Not every member of this particular family, however, is chosen to carry this special gift. They are chosen before birth. They are chosen by none other than the Gods before the child is even conceived. It is also unknown which child will have this gift until the child is born. Only then do the Gods reveal to the family that their child is to carry this gift with them." Nerachai looked at her brother. "Which family is it? Does anyone even know?" "We do know which family carries this gift." Eruheran replied. "Well, who is it? Please tell me." He just looked at her. "Do you not already know?" Nerachai's head suddenly began to spin. "It's us, isn't it?" "It is." her brother replied. She immediately demanded to know more. Eruheran only looked at the ground. Confused by her brothers behavior asked, “What’s wrong?” He said nothing. They stood in silence for several moments before Eruheran looked at her and said. “We need to go speak to mother.” Nerachai, obviously confused by this agreed. They both walked out of the studio.
It was getting into the late evening when they arrived to their home. Eruheran and Nerachai both entered the family quarters. They found their mother had been waiting for them. Her stern, yet soft, face looked as though it were going to crack. However, their mother kept her composure. She looked deep into her daughters’ eyes. Her focus didn’t break for several moments. Finally, she turned and faced her son. “You can leave now.” Eruheran bowed to his mother, then he slowly turned and walked out of the room. Inimeitiel watched the door close behind him. Again, she turned to face her daughter. Her usually stern face softened more than it had in years, as far as Nerachai could remember anyways. She clutched her daughter into a hug so tight Nerachai thought she would pass out from the lack of breath. When her mother released her and after she regained her breath, Nerachai finally was able to ask her mother what was going on. Inimeitiel was fighting back tears, Nerachai could tell. Slowly, Inimeitiel once again regained her composure. She looked at her daughter, finally with a heavy sigh she began to speak. “I suspect Eruheran has already told you some of our families history?” “Yes, but what does that have to do with..” “Good”, she interrupted. “Forgive me then, if I repeat some of what he told you. Long ago it has been foretold that a great power shall emerge. They did not know who or when this would happen. Only that it would. They did know, however, which family this being would be born into. An old family, one that is, indeed, of noble blood. However, these people did not live like nobles. They lived among their peers. Helping others of misfortune. They also foretold that the being of power would, in fact, be a female.” As her mother said these words Nerachai’s eyes widened. “What does that mean mother?” she asked. “it means that every female born into our family must take a very long and hard journey to Julieniusiem. Not only must you go on this journey, you must also do it alone.” “So you mean I have to leave?” Nerachai was stunned. She didn’t know how to take the news. “Well, how do I know where to go?” Her mother just looked at her. “I have to figure that out as well?” Her mother smiled at her. “Of course not, well not entirely by yourself.” Inimeitiel pulled out a cloth map and a leather satchel. “You are not permitted to look in the satchel until you reached the destination marked on the map.” Nerachai took both items from her mother reluctantly. “Now off to bed you start out in two weeks time.” Nerachai looked at her mother as thought to as a question; however she just turned and left her mother.

________________Different part....

As the mighty sun began to sink into the horizon, a family in the middle of a field stood. A man, his wife, and their 3 children all stood there. Inimeitiel held on to her dearest husband as though nothing could ever separate them. Beriadan held his wife close to him in a tight embrace. Tears flooded her eyes and soon began to spill over. He gently kissed her lips as they began to separate he whispered, "I'll be fine, my love" he then kissed her forehead softly and looked at her with a slight grin. "What about Nerachai? What is going to happen to our baby girl?" She asked, worry filling her eyes. He simply replied, "I will need to get her, but only when she is ready." Inimeitiel didn't know what to do. She could not possibly loose both her husband and her daughter. She knew not where her husband was going or where he would someday be taking their daughter. All that she knew was that they both had to leave or else the race would fail forever. Grief in her heart she began to sob uncontrollably. She was hysterical and could not be consoled. Her twin sons, one on either side of her, held her up and helped her back into the sanctuary.
Her daughter stayed and refused to leave her fathers side. She loved her father, as did everyone. She also admired him greatly. He was about 6'2" and had a very strong frame. He had golden hair he wore in a half ponytail. He was very skilled with a Bow and Arrow and could also fight hand-to-hand combat. However, he also had a gentle side to him and loved to paint and sculpt. He often made toys for all of his children, especially Nerachai. He had a stern face but always seemed to soften around his children. He had eyes that matched the ocean perfectly and the warmest smile anyone would know. "Bapa, why can't I go with you?" She asked. His heart filled with pride as his daughter asked him this. He smiled as he replied, " you have to keep your brothers out of trouble, my little aranel." Her eyes began to fill with tears, but she fought them back. For even though she was still young she had strength no one could comprehend. His son, Melcindomien was walking back up to them after leaving his mother with Eruheran. Beriadan leaned in and whispered in Nerachai s' ear "The day will come when I will summon you. You have a gift neither one of your brothers have received. I will need you. Only when I know you are ready. "One day daughter, I promise I shall come back for you." Melcindomien was now standing beside them, "Goodbye, father." "Goodbye, my son." He replied. With that their father turned and began to walk away. "Bapa, PLEASE. DON'T GO!" Her dark blue eyes began to flood with tears. She couldn't stand it she lunged to go and run after him, but her brother caught her in mid stride. Fighting him the whole time while screaming to her father to come back. "BAPA!! COME BACK!!" Melcindomien, tried to quiet and comfort her, with no success. "PLEASE DON'T LEAVE ME HERE! BAPA!!" She could no longer hold them back as the tears began to stream out of her eyes like a river that has been held back by a dam. Her father turned to face his precious daughter once more. Tears filled his eyes and pain so deep in his heart as he turned and walked away from them.

She was silently riding through the forest near the great river when she startled. She had always has very keen senses and she had felt something though she knew not what it was. She dismounted Diatomiah and began to lead him through the foliage using every one of her senses to the fullest and all of her muscles tense. She could not turn back for then whomever was following her would surly strike if they sensed any fear from her. She tied her mount to a nearby branch and decided it was best to not go any farther. She drew her bow and loaded and arrow into it. She looked at Diatomiah and saw the fear in his eyes. She gently rubbed his neck. “We’re just going to make camp here for the night, I’m just going to take a look around and make sure that nothing is around and that it’s safe.” Seeing that her friend was not in the least convinced she told him to stay there and stay quiet. With that she took off to have a look around.

About an hour later Nerachai returned to the place where she had left Diatomiah. Finding him lying in a pile of brush near to where she had tied him. She went up to him and rubbed his head. “Looks secure to me.” With that her mount settled down finally able to loosen the tensing in his muscles. Although she had calmed Diatomiah she had not fully convinced herself that she was not being followed. However, she now had to make camp since it was getting dark and she surly could not travel into the night securely in an area she was not at all familiar with.
She gathered brush and set up a mini fence to warn of an attacker and began making a small tent for her to sleep under. She then built a fire to keep warm and to prepare supper. She slowly cooked supper, all the while taking in her surroundings. She was uncertain about herself and she knew this.

Seeing her obvious beauty and skill the ranger was hypnotized. She stood with such confidence that he was sure she would be a fair opponent. However, he could not make a move. He had been following her since she had left her land and was almost taking care of her rather than doing what he was sent there to do. She was the most powerful being in their world they had claimed, but they said nothing of her beauty. Even more, she was unaware that she was the most powerful being in their world. This made her vulnerable. He had been studying this girl for over 200 years and knew nearly everything there was to know. Not until now had he ever seen her. His mentors would often send spies to tell of news regarding this young girl and the information would be relayed back to him.

Like her, he had also come from a very old family. These two families often battled, for his ancestors were charged with the destruction of this great power and help from keeping one powerful being from ruling the world. For it was said that if this being became powerful without challenge they would hunger for power and destroy this world. He knew this and that this was his destiny to challenge her on her journey. However, when he laid his eyes upon her he became mesmerized and could not bring himself to attack her.
