Hi people! This is the prologue to the book I'm writing. Yes, it is a fantasy epic, and I would really love any sort of critism you have, good or bad. So read, and I hope you enjoy.

this is most likely PG-13. If you think different, tell me.

YAY POINTLESS!!!!! Sorry, please excuse me while I suspress the random part of my brain....

NOTE: the first four lines I'm working to translate into Kiel, a language I invented.

Prologue: Breaking of the Triangle

Hear the dragons calling...

Cyriona falling...

the fire dancing leaping from...

Kory'anda...

the Lord has come.

Many years ago, Cyriona was peaceful. The harvest were fruitful, and the harmony and peace between humans and elves waxed stronger every day. Dragons patrolled the land, protecting it from any harm. The silver kings of the dragons resided in the Palace of Gemini, in which the heart of all the dragons power also lay. Yet as the dragons feared, this peace did not last.

Because of one thing. One small thing.

A dragon was born. Ülë'comö was his name, Red Shield in the speech of humans. His mother and father sensed something was different with this dragonet (baby dragon), but nothing came of it for a long while. Ülë'comö grew surpassing even wild dragons in size. That sense that stayed with him grew also, but no one toook notice of that.

The dragons were more concerned with something outside thier borders. There were rumors, rumors of a shadow, a great evil in the west. The people of Cyriona did not care, for this news came from beyond the Green Mountains, but the dragons were concerned. What if the shadows spread?

Yet the shadow came from within.

That sense that had been in Ülë'comö from the moment he hatched grew and flourished coming to the light at last. Ülë'comö entered the Palace of Gemini, and killed the king of dragons. All of the dragons were devestated. They pursued Ülë'comö, but he was cunning. He disappeared and wasn't heard of for a long time.

Hear the dragons calling...

Ülë'comö was not idle. Secretlly, he spent those five years that he was hidden at Coryanda (Kory'anda) -a volcano-building up an army. He burned the trees of Windfall, and the Silver Tree withered, never to bloom again until Ülë'comö died. Windfall, once a beautiful, mystic land, became barren.

A battle was fought on the remenents of Windfall. Ülë'comö unleashedh is terrible army against the dragon, elves, and men. Ülë'comö had created the dez for this purpose, and they did thier job will. The dragons were distracted, and Ülë'comö left for the Palace of Gemini.

It was there that Ülë'comö sealed the doom of many. He took the Red Orb, the Orb of Fire, and broke the Triangle of Power. It was also said at that time that Elë'comö and Ilë'comö took the oter two Orbs and hid them away. The power of the dragons failed, and many died. The rest fled, seeking to escape destruction. Without the power of the dragons, the army of the men and warrior-elves was overrun. There was a great slaughter that day, and the fires of Ülë'comö spread on.

Cyriona falling...

That was how Cyriona fell. No longer was it the peaceful land the Guardian created; it had fell into shadow. Some say the shadow of the Nameless One himself. Long, dark years followed as the people of Cyriona tried to resist the might of Ülë'comö. They failed.

The warrior-elves fled bacdck to thier realms, hoping to maintain a part of the world that was not covered in shadow. Three times Ülë'comö attacked the western realms of Talis and the Silent Wood, and each time the elves prevailed. The Song of the wood-elves and the might of the warrior-elves were still too strong.

His troops depleted, Ülë'comö focused attention on the rest of Cyriona. He built up an even greater army, and made war upon the souther lands. They all fell to his might, and the Swamp of Mystery, once small, now covered the entire land of Windfall. Some still resisted him, but it was futile. the power of Ülë'comö was unstoppable.

the fires dancing, leaping from...

And so it was that Ülë'comö gained the domination over all of Cyriona. All hope was lost. Ülë'comö renamed himself Sorhan (correctly written Cor'han) which means Dark Lord. For many years he lived in Coryanda plotting a way to conquer the Silent Wood. Taking over the Tower of Safegueard, he set a watch upon it.

Yet Sorhan was still restless. He was afraid, (though he wouldn't admit it) that someone powerful would open the gates and challenge him, so he hid the three crystals that were the kepys. Many years passed, and Sorhan gathered his power. He realized that to take the Silent Wood, he would have to use stealth.

Three years passed, and the night of the assualt came. Sorhan abandoned the Tower of Safegueard-his only use for it now was to protect the crystal. I was on that night, that black night, that the trees of the Silent Wood burned.

Sorhan captured many of the Tree People and drove them towards Myrilan. And so the land waited. The Guardian could not help-the Nameless One prevented it from coming to earth. All it could do was find someone. Someone who would take the quest.

The Cyriona waited, and so did the elves. They waited ofr the one person brave enough to defeat Lord Sorhan-the true claimer of the Orb of Fire.

Coryanda-the Lord has come.
