Post subject:  Twin Poems of Love (PG)

With Valentine's Day approaching, I decided to write two poems about love though they are a bit sad.

The Woman I Loved
What was once light is dark as night
Emptiness filling my heart as my cries echo in the dark

An abyss growing inside me, sadness overwhelms me
As I painfully remember the woman I loved

Like a living fantasy she came to me
Radiating light, making stars fall from grace

How here words were like whispers of angels
And her fair skin like flowing silk

Her body was fragile yet perfectly graceful
Like a crystal statue spiraling in the air

In her soft voice she declared her love
Blinding me to reason as I love her in return

Under the starry light by the calm seaside
I held her in my arms and kissed her rosy lips

An explosion of feelings erupted inside me
As we held each other closely in love's embrace

But good things hardly last and I soon lost her
Life became empty, dissipating into air

Ghostly kisses pain my heart, coldness conquers my body
No longer warmed by her beautiful body

In gloom I lay with my heart haunted
By the ghostly memories of the woman I loved

If I Could Only
If I could only see your face
I would gaze upon it until the world's end

If I could only hear your voice
I will make the winds sing in return

If I could only feel your had
I would hold it close to my heart

If I could only smell your hair
I would live on your fragrance only

If I could only hold your in my arms
I would hold you tight in love's embrace

If I could look into your eyes
I would see my love in them

If I could only kiss your rosy lips
I would kiss them under the moonlight

If I could only dream of you
I would fall into eternal sleep

If I could only remember you
I would love you forever
