On the hill of Seeing, I lost My sight,
Near the Hill of Hearing, I could not hear,
Near the rush of Anduin, I lost life's fight,
And I face deaths shadow, with little fear.
My Titles are many, yet worth now little,
Captain of Guard,Walker, Man of Gondor,
Yet my will and strength of character was brittle,
As I strode 'neath the shadow of deaths door.
I tried to take that which was not mine,
In many years Men may revile
My name, at Death and Glory's table I dine
My kin I defamed and my reputation defiled.
Yet My penance was true, My repentance complete,
By fighting to the last I finally have obtained,
A peace everlasting, To tread white mountains with weary feet,
My memory clean, upon it now no more stain.
My Horn windeth no more, My great sword lies still,
My great Shield cracked,nigh almost shattered,
A pile of dead foeman lie heaped on the hill,
Their bodies now rest, Bloodied and battered.
I lie in my boat , on my final great quest,
Although tis truly final, yet I feel no fear,
My companions place me with my Blade on my breast,
Titles irrelevant in death, but my Name is Boromir.......
