Post subject: | The Hunter and the Doe |
I peom I wrote for writing at school. I was told to write a poem and this is what I came up with. The moon shone down Onto the lake below. Dew covered the ground And there slept a doe. A hunter slowly crept forward As the doe slept and dreamed, So nothing could warn The deer of the hunter unseen. He let loose an arrow At the sleeping doe. Deep the arrow burrowed Into the heart, from the hunter's bow. The deer now lay dead At the feet of the hunter, Who had joy unsaid As it began to thunder. The hunter grabbed his kill, And made his way home Where he had a small mill, And a field freshly sown. He now had enough meat From the poor deer To last him a week, To a quarter of a year. The skinning he did quickly, With the skin put aside. He let the meat for his meal start grilling, On it's side. Quite content with his catch He noticed it was starting to storm. He closed the door with a latch So he could feel safe and secure. |
