A new poem I just jotted done in my spare time. You know the drill. Comments welcome etc. cheers Meph The strangest thing that I have learned o’er my life, Is not anything from the space age, nor in itself weird, And scholars and historians suffer much internal strife, Arguing like children over it, and stroking their beards. I speak not of whether a God rules o’er the universe, Nor whether there be such a thing as Right or Wrong, And what makes a joke cause laughter and mirth, Neither asking how a human life we can prolong. But my problem is simple; we see it each day, And yet by the same token, is too hard to ken, But, Ill present my thoughts to you anyway, It is “Why is there conflict between us mortal men?” So I set about pondering, wondering to myself why We still fight each day against our own race, When nations share trade, international flights fly, So why are we not content to look after our own space? Then I thought that it was riches, conquest, power, Or unawareness of the pain that war creates, But in my idle time, at the thirteenth hour, I was sent the answer by the whim of Fate. It is intolerance that is the root cause of war, And that our hatred may cause humanity’s fall, And I beg you remember, it sends many to Deaths door. But most of all this; that Love conquers all… |

Wow, that's really strong, and I agree with what it says! And I always like the style where each verse is four lines, and every other line rymes. That's awesome, Lord of Death! |
