Post subject:  Aragorn/Eowyn poem: Dreams

I wrote this about three or so years ago, and I just remembered it! It doesn't rhyme at all because I seem to horrible at writing those sort of poems. :-P It's more like a drabble, but in poem form. This is from Eowyn's point of view. I hope you like it!

The setting sun glows,
sending its fading rays to dance upon your face.
The faint wind playfully sends a cheerful gust
to caress your hair.
The golden sun silhouettes your outline as
you turn, your eyes dancing.
My heart stops as though I have been captured by some strange spell.
Maybe I have.
You take my hand in yours,
filling me with renewed hope.
But then I see that jewel, so harmless and beautiful
yet full of poison.
You smile at me, but I cannot allow myself to respond.
Not now.
Your heart is already taken.
I cannot afford to be broken by
dreams that will never
come into existence.
For that is all they are.
Dreams.

beautiful!! It had something very..mystifyingly interesting about it. (not that that made sense or anyyything..lol).. and it's probably a concept Eowyn had manyyy thoughts about.
