Post subject:  Your England

(in reply to Darrall)

Your England was once mine too, a land of mists and sprites
Tall men that ran and laughed with joy to see the sun rise over feilds
That sighed mellow yawns before subsideing into starry nights
Middle Earth; I trod the halls of the poets haunts
Frisked through woods he knew long past
I was but a child then, I knew no ill nor wants

A tall tower surrounded by a circle of stone
A seat of learning proud and strong - his shadow
Lingers faint - but I feel I am alone
The pistons scream the metals screech
Men hurry hither with downcast eyes
No time to rest, no time to laugh, no time for common speech

Yet here, within these stone walls the grass is peeping through
The sunshines white, we steadfast children laugh
Small crocus's and daffodils burst bright and new
I know that though I have left my own Middle Earth
Soon there I shall return, covered in mail bright
Singing songs of its beutey my heart filled with mirth

(in explanation I'm from Oxford studying in Birmingham)

Jax!!!!!!!!

Sorry to get back to you so late! That poem was one of the last things I posted before dissapearing for 6 months.

Studies are going really well, i'm about to commence my third and final year at university, though i might begin a postgraduate afterwards in europe depending on how this year goes.

Hows everything with you?
