The Forgotten (K+)

Those who once rode forth in pride,
Their hair about their shoulders flew;
Where now their crimson flow they gave for glory's sake?
Who now keeps watch upon the deserted walls of men?

Not they.

The shattered lands find them not.
For the earth hath laid them under mounds of jade
Where they sleep with forefathers fallen long before their time.
Upon the breast of their mother they slumber,
Unknown to their descendants.

The grandeur of their hallowed halls and soaring towers
Now crumble in ancient tales untold to lesser men.
Under the weeping skies sword, shield , and armor
Fade, decay, and become dust.

Thus that which was now dissipates.
Those once wreathed in honor lie forgotten
Beneath the cares of an older world.
