This is my first ever attempt at writing a poem and I can say that I have not written anything since a book report may be back in high school over 30 years ago but this is what got on my mind yesterday and here it goes....

Fangorn Forest
Treebeard was a tree herder
living amongst the Ents
Daily talking of squirrel droppings
And how birds build their nests
Suddenly appeared Merry and Pippen
Two hobbits from the Shire
Little did they know they're coming would be like the starting of a fire.

The white wizard walks to & fro devising evil plans
Building a great War machine
And a army of Orcs to command
The dark Lord rides in force tonight
The great eye sees all the land
The Ents march on to Isengard
Will this be the end

Treebeard and the Ents march on,
to Isengard tonight
Orthanc is surrounded now,
The rage of the Ents unleashed
The dam has broke, the waters rise, Isengard falls tonight.
Fangorn echoes with laughter again, for victory is within.

I'm a little late... but I agree, very nice piece and thanks much for sharing! Always nice to see new content in this section. Not very many people are active here now days and I did so enjoy this section of the forum back in the day.
