I love writing stories. I've always liked writing. When I was little I wrote story after story about a girl getting a horse for a birthday present from her grandma. I have some of them saved, and they are quite a laugh. But now that I've matured, I've developed a deep longing for writing. There's something within me that desires to reflect on my real life, and write a masterpiece such as Lord of the Rings or The Chronicles of Narnia. To write a story with astounding depth, beauty and adventure, and perhaps something allegorical to life and my beliefs (such as Tolkien and Lewis). Am I the only one who sees...visions, almost? Or just, all of a sudden get a detailed idea that's totally random. I'll be walking in the woods at my local state park, and almost "see" something happening that seems so vivid. Anyway, my point is that there are so many things I want to write about, so many "visions" I have. But the thing is, I can't write about them. I can't think of a way to fit all of these ideas into a storyline. I can't think of a sensible plot. All of these glorious ideas are rolling around in my head, but it's as if my mind isn't sophisticated enough to get them down on paper. It's as if the ideas are beyond me. My hope is that I will someday use these ideas, and that my skills only need to improve. Does anyone else feel this way? |

Especially during a boring class during the day. A random thing will pop into my head and I write it down. I am currently in development of a novel I wish to write. I have nothing down yet but am working on fine-tuning some ideas. I love to write and have written everything from poems, to short stories, to fun adventures... |

I several ideas, I'm working mostly on one right now, and I hope to start writing a novel on it soon. After that, I'll hopefully go on to some other ideas. Where do you all get ideas from, besides visions (btw, I don't think I've ever had one, but I do randomly come up with ideas sometimes) I've gotten a couple of ideas from dreams I had. Then sometimes I'll come up with a tiny idea that I like, then write a plot around it. Like once I was thinking about how rain smells, and I thought that "The Scent of Rain" would be a good title for a story, then I came up with the story for it! the actually story's not my best, but oh well. lol |

I started something about a year ago, about a girl who was abandoned and found that she belonged to a secret race that can turn into eagles at will. I suppose the storyline wasn't that bad, but I found it hard to really express my ideas. Since then, I've been content with daydreaming everything. I can lay down and daydream for hours looking at nothing but the ceiling. My mind is so restless. |

How else do you think I ended up with 4 POTC fanfics, and a 5th in the making? I can't stop getting ideas! It's driving me insane! It happens at the randomest times for me, too. I'm glad I'm not the only one! |

I'm working on novel, the story, the plotline and character profiles are going to be the hardest and the most interesting, of everything. But I'm trying to write out the plotline first. then the character profiles, and finally write whole story. |

I've been writing since I was little and I love them all! Instead of visions, I sometimes get ideas of scenes and start acting them out as the main character...which can be a problem if you're in public. ![]() Now I really like fantasy, and I'm jumping between two series I'm writing. One of my main goals in life is to get published. It's also one of the reasons I want to be a movie drector...same stories, different media. It's cool to have a bunch of fellow story tellers to talk to here! *waves* ![]() |

I guess all writers think the way I do... *cough* I mean, I'm not crazy in my thinking. ![]() "Story tellers" as you said, Riniel. I've been thinking about that recently, and how writers don't (or shouldn't) write about something they think the world would like. We're just storytellers, telling stories that sometimes seem to already be forged, and that we are only the way of communicating it on paper. Ta da! *bows* My random thought of the day! ![]() |

I just do it when I'm in my room, though. lol I hope to get published sometime too. |

I have a work in progress... A typical fantasy really, but not so many fictional races. My "goblins"(I really want a different name for them, they aren't really goblins...) are really more like animals... No elves, no dwarves, humans... One sort of mystical race... but well... it's hard to all say without telling the story. Magic is fun... especially when you try to make a magic-system. I'm going... a very strange way with it. tee hee... |
