Post subject: | LOTR Poems..One to Earendil, One to Gil-Galad, and one more |
My original topic to this was placed in the wrong area and i cant seem to locate it, it says its here but i do not see it, anywho i have added a new poem to Gil-Galad as well. These are three poems i have written lately relating to LOTR and The Sill. The First one is incomplete and is more of a stroy poem but do me a favor and dont scroll to the end, read it because you will see who the character is at the end, The Second one is a completed poem and i think it is my favorite. The one to Gil-Galad is a revised and longer version of Tolkiens Lay of Gil-Galad, i am sorry i do not remember my first two lines of it. *not named yet* You go to the Grey Havens, beyond the White Towers When your time on Middle-Earth is shortened to hours You will see Cirdan, with his long white beard When you see him, you shall forget all that you have feared The harbor is filled with water that is so clear It will fill you with joy, and you may shed a tear The song of the elves will echo through the city It may fill your heart with happiness or a sense of pity For you are leaving the places you have made To travel across the sea, where the light shall not fade The breeze shall sound like the whispers of the ones who came before They are calling you home, from across a distant shore The time has now come for you to travel to the undying land You final journey is now at hand When you reach Aman, you will see white shores and white birds You will be in utter awe and without any words When you breathe the air, it will be as the breath of life The first one to greet you is you’re most beautiful wife She is wearing a white dress and has long blonde hair Her beauty is immeasurable, for nothing to you seems so fair She is so beautiful to you and her hair is glistening like the rain For she is the Silver Queen and her name is Celebrain With her you shall walk long and far Till you come upon the great white mountain where the Valar are In the hall on the peak, sit King Manwe and Lady Varda They are the masters of the west and the control the fate of Arda On your travels you come across a women who’s name is Elwing, which means star-spray She is your mother and her husband flies in the sky this very day She left you long ago to save your life Because the sanctity of the Silmaril stood on the edge of a knife You begin to think about your lineage and race Until you look across the sea, wishing you could see you daughters face You had offered her the choice to live with you and enjoy immortality But she forsook her elven grace and chose love and mortality *To be continued* If you have any suggestions or complaints or you want to see something in the poem that you want me to add, OR a title idea just post em here. To Fly Of all the mariners under the sky Only one of them would dare to fly His name was Lord Earendil And he married the daughter of Dior Eluchíl When Gondolian fell to shadow and flame To the havens of Sirion Earendil came With Cirdan, he created a ship for all to see He would use Vingilot to cross the great sea Lost in the sea with out and hope, he saw a bird, like a white dove It was Elwing with the Silmari who came out of love To the Valar he would come, to say his great plea To save Middle-Earth from the darkness it may be The Valar agreed and offered him a gift in return A gift that was a choice, a hard one to make, he would learn To live as an elf and enjoy the blessings of immortality Or to live as a man and enjoy the gift of mortality He chose to live as an elf for the sake of his wife For without Elwing, his love, he would have no life The army of the Valar would soon land on Belerainds shores To challenge Morgoth's might at Angbads doors The War of wrath began with elf fighting orc under the sky Until Ancalagon and his dragons would fly But a bright light came and with the eagles, Earendil flew And fought with the dragons and Ancalagon, who he slew The ground would shake and Galadrial had a notion The soon Beleraind would sink beneath the ocean With Morgoth defeated and never to threaten again It would seem Lord Earendils task was at an end But the Valar lifted him up to fly As the Eastern Star, shining in the night sky. The Fall of Gil-Galad Gil-Galad was an elven king Of him the harpers sadly sing ---- ---- He was the only son of King Fingon And was giving the name of Ereion After the death of Turgon He became king and founded Lindon With Cirdan he sat by the shore Until Elendil came from Numenor He helped him found his kingdom of Arnor While his sons went south and founded Gondor With him he founded the Last Alliance To punish Sauron for his greedy defiance At Dagorlad they won the hour And all that was left Sauron and his Dark Tower And now our tale comes to a heap For of Gil-Galad's last hours, the elves sadly weap For in mordor would fall his star Of whom both man and elf would see afar He fought with valor like his elder kin With great honor like his father and Fingolfin He fought with Aiglos his mighty spear But Sauron was to much, and all could only look in fear Thus fell High-King Gil-Galad And the elves desparied and lost the hope they had It was said that from all a tear was shed For the last of the Noldor king was now dead. The End Thanks for reading i hoped you liked them. Tell me what you think. |
