You Smile at me
Why
Your lips part in a peaceful way
Shining, bright teeth
Fresh, clean breath
Good, Clear intentions
But Why?
There is no good
In a world where we are all trying to be the same
Like mass produce marrionetts in a puppet shop
Trying to mimick the person we look up to.
Yet you smile at me
But why?
At the moment the world is a drab, dreary place
A morbid picture of how noble things once were
With people lying an cheating others out of money
And stealing the food off their plates
They smile too and keep their faces proud
While they say
"We want world peace"
As they keep pile of nuclear bombs
Ready to go off at any moment
Ready to leave the world as a crisp, fried reminder of what it once was.
But you,
Maybe you are different
Maybe we are not all the same
Maybe you really want good
Instead of good for your wallet
Maybe you tried to bring good to
All because you smiled at me
I think.
Now I see a light
My thoughts stop like a train on a hill
A small sharp face with a clean crisp smile
Meant the world to me on that cold, dark day.

I like it. It's sweet.
