Tolkien incorporated many ideas from Norse Mythology into his tales about Middle-earth. I wouldn't say he copied because it wasn't the whole thing--he just took a small portion of the idea of the story and then incorporated it into his own.

I won't use the word copying because nothing in litrature is perfect or unique. Everyone uses some kind of concept once in a while.
