I never really thought Aredhel was that great. She wasn't in the book enough. Though she does have a cool name.

Oh I really like Aredhel, because she was different from other women, cuz she went away from home against the counsel of her brother and also she fled from her husband when he tyrranised her.

If she was in the book more, I'd probably like her more (I already like her better than Morwen, though), but she just doesn't compare with Luthien.

no, ur right, she doesn't. But Lúthien's story was way more important than Aredhel's story. Lúthien really is a mayor character in the Sil.

Yeah, she was. She's the coolest female Tolkien ever thought up, except for Elbereth.

This kind of thing surprises me. I agree they all did some horrible things, but I definitely don't think they were evil. We all make bad choices, theirs just happened to have the result of forcing them to make more bad choices. They may not be admirable, but EVIL is too extreme for this situation, in my opinion.
Of course, I would defend them, as my fave elf (already posted on the last page) is one of them!
