I am reading the silmarillion right now and I love it. It's so great, I just finished reading the story of Beren and Luthien, that's my favourite story so far :D

The Silmarillion was formerly my favorite of Tolkien's works, but after I read The Unfinished Tales, that became my favorite, if only because of The Disaster of the Gladden Fields.

err I think "News from Middle-Earth" is the unfinished Tales. At least the German translation of the Unfinished Tales actually means "News from Middle-Earth".

that's alright.. I've never heard of "news from Middle-Earth", but inside the cover it should actually say the original title of the book, which should be (in case ur reading Nachrichten aus Mittelerde) the Unfinished Tales.

I've read The Hobbit, Lord of the Rings (including the appendices), The Silmarillion, & Unfinished Tales. I've read Lord of the Rings several times, parts of The Silmarillion and Unfinished Tales many times as well.

I just picked up the Lays of Beleriand from the Library today! Is it as good as Tolkiens other stuff?

Lol, Lady of Taniquetil. I've read LotR 25 times now, The Silmarillion 10 or so, and The Unfinished Tales around four times. :D My life pretty much revolves around LotR. Not as much as it did before, but still a lot.
