I think I said this in the old forum: I find that they key is to not approach Sil. in the same way as you do LotR. It's not written the same way. Tolkien never finished his book. Instead, think of it as several books, several stories, a collection of stories and books, like, like a fairy tale book, or a history book.

It's deffinately not as easy as LotR. At least I think so. But it's still a fantastic book. I only just started reading it, but I've been enjoying it quite a bit. Anyone who really like LotR should read it.

i've never read the silmarillion ... is it good??? im planning on reading it, but I've never got around to it... cuz im not sure if i'll like it

I only know that the Sil has been translated into German, but I think that there also is a Thai version...
