Though the Arwen or Eowyn topic is a completely misc. topic I feel I should put it in the book topic area so it will be there for you shortly.

I would have to say Arwen because she almost loses the love of her life. There are more reasons to it, I just cant think of them.

Galadriel first, if simply because of her kind nature, age and history... followed VERY closely by Eowyn, because of her ability to fight and join in battle- it's no easy feat to destroy the Witch king!

Same here, Tirelen! :-D

I agree Elberethsq!!! There really should be debate thread about this whole Arwen thing. Personally, I think Arwen got a few too many scenes, but I still like her. And about Eowyn and Faramir they didn't get enough scenes but I still like Eowyn.

Very well said Larael.

Thankies! :)

Go Eowyn! I chose her because she's out there for the girls! (Well not really) She showed her strength and how worthy a women can be in battle. She's brave and beautiful. I liked Arwen too, but Eowyn captured me most. Galadriel is a beautiful...grandma, lol, I mean she's a beautiful women also, but Eowyn has the essence to capture me. It's because of her choices.

Really, in the end Eowyn doesn't want to fight.

Yes, it did come suddenly, but I prefer the change. She seems more at peace.

Yeah, she's definetly more at peace but it came about as someone and snapped their fingers and commanded it.

Yeah Yáviel. May I ask, what does "Yáviel" mean? :)

I chose Eowyn.

There's something about the strong shieldmaiden that captivates me.e In a sense, I feel that she's the most real character in the books. She'd have been much more in touch than the other ladies (except maybe Galadriel), having grown up in the Golden Hall in a kingdom shadowed by war instead of in, say, Valinor or sheltered Rivendell. She's decisive, she's brave, and she wants to protect her kin. And in the end, there's more to her than fighting. "I will be a healer, and love all things that grow and are not barren." How lovely is that?

She laughs and cries and loves and despairs, something we don't see in any other woman in the books. She's human, and that's what's special about her.

Valinor wasn't really sheltered. Have you read the Silmarillion? Melkor caused so much destruction and despair there. Rivendell wasn't sheltered at times, either.

Eowyn is nice, but I still choose Galadriel.

Varda is right. No land is truly safe. For example. It takes the elven warriors and Nenya to protect Lorien and Valinor is now protected by the Valar. Who know when one might fail? Galaldriel rox!

You don't see many people who like Goldberry the best. Good for you! :-D
