I'm a Tolkien novice I guess & there are so many good characters but there are a couple of "dark" characters that I like because of the story of them working together, Morgoth & Ungoliant. I got to say that was very enjoyable reading. I also like Feanor & how he made the oath....I won't say no more to ruin things but these Tolkien writings is just awesome.

Turin Turambar by far is my favourite character from the Silmarillion. I probably re-read that chapter more than any other, and was thrilled when the book Children of Hurin came out a few years back. Of course, having loved looking at the stars ever since I was a kid, I have to say I had (have?) a crush on Varda.© Mikel Janin

I'd have to say Luthien; she was awesome! I also liked all the Valar, especially Varda and Nienna, and Morgoth was a great villain.

^^ Oh no! I forgot Lúthien! She's definitely on my list! And Morgoth is the greatest villain ever.. 'cause no one cannot really stop him.

Yes, Luthien! And I always thought Fingolfin was such a stand-up elf, and my visualization of him taking on Morgoth.... wow.
Also, I was always fascinated with the tale of Aredhel. A sad and rather depressing tale it was. I once wrote up an RP character based on Eol and Aredhel's relationship.

^^ I feel so stupid now. It seems that I've forgot Aredhel as well. And her son Maeglin is also interesting, very tragic of course, but that makes him just even more interesting.
