I don't like math...does anyone know how old Aragorn was when he died? I'm too lazy to figure it out.

Holy cow! That's like people in the Old Testament!!! They got freakishly old too... that's quite old for a mortal...

^ Haha, not as old as Methusela (I THINK that was the 900-year old guy...).

He was like 700 years younger than Methusela, and he didn't live as long as the Sea Kings in their early days, so it actually wasn't that long unless you compare it to the life of a normal man. Elros lived for like 500 years, I think.

correct. to be exact Methusela was 969 when he died.

I know, but Methusela was a special case!
Concerning Aragorn I was comparing to mortals in the Fourth Age, other Dunedain and hobbits. I know the Dunedain used to become very old, but considering how the blood had been mixed over the years, it's still a long life. Also Elros doesn't really count as he was of Elven descent!

Most people mentioned in Genesis lived at least 200 years, most of them more, I think. Like Noah lived 300-some years.

You're all right :) But I still think it was veeeeeeery stupid of him to die on his birthdate!!! :(

Stupid? How so? He chose to die then, instead of clinging to life as the latter kings of the Númenóreans did. I'm sure he had a good reason for dying on that day.

Aww, that's mean! :( It's not like he looked at the calendar and said "Hmm, I think I'll die on my birthday, that's a good day for it!"
