In my book, which happened to be made in 1977, contains Quenta Silmarillion (The History of the Silmarils), Ainulindale (The Music of the Ainur) and Valaquenta (Account of the Valar). Then there is a second part of the book which contains Akallabeth (The Downfall of Numenor) and Of The Rings Of Power And The Third Age. Hope this helps you!!!!! ![]() |

The Second Edition includes a wonderful Preface to the Second Edition which includes a 1951 letter from Tolkien to Milton Waldman which is very useful in understanding Tolkien's motives and themes, in my experience anyway. |

I got this one: ![]() Swedish version published by Norstedts. It contains: The Music of the Ainur, The Valaquenta, Quenta Silmarillion, Akallabeth, and Of the Rings of Power and the Third Age plus maps of Beleriand, family trees of the important elves and men of the books, a pronounciation guide, an elven word list and a list of characters. |

I think I have the newest edition...well, the ones that the books are being made in these days. The blackish cover with the circle on the front? Yeah. Anyway, it has all five books, plus an index and an appendix on names. |
