Okay, so, as this site is well known for its Elvish, there are a lot of people on youtube trying to pronounce words and phrases. Yesterday, I jumped on the band wagon with that LOL! I thought maybe you guys would appreciate this haha! Anyone else do this yet?

I thought it was hannon le. Isn't that how they said it in the movie? How have you changed elvish for your books? I am trying to do the same. I liked the video.

I actually never worked on it until yesterday...a few minutes before I recorded that lol! Thank you! I'm Romanian, which is a latin language, and I I read that Elvish sort of sprouts from the Latin language. Maybe that helps...?

And Timelord, I was reading from this site's Elvish. I think it's just the literal way of saying "I thank you" while what Aragorn says in the movie is more slangy. I think. I could be wrong. About how I changed elvish, I didn't change anything. I just made up my own words that have an elvish sound to them xD thanks!

I love you! (don't take it personally!) I had so much fun watching it. You're adorably entertaining, thanks for posting. I haven't seen other people speaking Elvish before but I bet it's true with the soft voice. :teehee:
Pronounciation-wise it sounded alright. I guess most people try to imitate the Elvish from the movies because really what else can we do! I used to know all the Elvish spoken in the movies by heart.. love the sound of it!! :)

PS. If you do more videos you should probably post in the Language sub-forum as more Elvish-geeks would see it there.

PPS. By the way, do you do every day video logs too? I'd love to follow your blog if you did! :P

That was fantastic! Awesome to see people still keeping Tolkien's languages "alive" in a sense. Can't wait to see more if there will be any.

And of course, welcome to the forum. Great way to make your entrance here. :p

Well, THANK you!!! I'm glad I wasn't just wasting my time! I want to add subtitles but I am completely clueless as to video editing. I have no idea how to cut out little parts or add text or anything! I've been researching a little because I do want to start making more videos (I already have a few but none of the others are worth watching -- awwwkward.) So, to answer your question, yes, I will be making daily or weekly vids once I figure out how to do some editing.

P.S.
I'll be making another attempt at Elvish today. After some practice :))

I was thinking, with as good of a job as you did, you could do lessons. It would be like the learning to say Italian phrases tapes. It could be a whole series. I for one would take the lessons.

Yes, I'm talking to you. I think you did an excellent job. I also like how personable you seem to be and you put some emotion with it instead of being "sensual" all the time.

I've been inspired to try and learn some elvish. I have been yammering at people at work in elvish. I get some interesting reactions.

There is a book called The Languages of Tolkiens Middle Earth. It is by Ruth S. Noel. It has a lot of info in it.
