Which chapter of The Silmarillion did you enjoy the most? Which do you think was the best? Do you love to re-read any of them in particular?
My favourite chapter is probably "Of Beren and Lúthien," because it is one of the only uplifting chapters in the book. After that, probably "Of the Fifth Battle: Nirnaeth Arnoediad," which is reminiscent of The Song of Roland. Both are very moving chapters, though.

The bits about Hurin, or his tragic saga.
I loved the Children of Hurin when it was released, I feel like re-reading it!

I also enjoyed the story of Beren and Lúthien. Another one of my favorites is the story of Feanor, which actually covers several chapters.

Of Turin...but that has been more-or-less properly written into its own book as The Children of Hurin.

The Downfall of Numenor, hands down. I love complicated stories of political intrigue. The great thing about the Silmarillion is that there's something for everyone. It covers all genres pretty well.
